The 10 Doctors - Page 81
The 7th Doctor collars Glitz about his activities, but Glitz only confesses to betraying the Daleks. The 2nd Doctor’s questioning of the Rani turns up a defensive reply. But just as the Doctors discover that the TARDIS is being well guarded, they are attacked by the Renegade Daleks assisted by the 6th Doctor.

February 6th, 2008 at 10:26 pm
I knew Glitz was pulling a fast one…No profit, indeed. Is it me, or is Colin…Erm…Doctor #6 looking heavier than usual? LOL…I just love updates…Huzzah for Rich.
February 6th, 2008 at 11:19 pm
6 is just all puffed up on his own self-importance, I think. Someone needs to hit the valve on his back to let some of the air out.
February 6th, 2008 at 11:21 pm
Yeah, I noticed that too. But remember in Time Crash, 10 makes a remark about a Time Differential that makes 5 look old. I reckon that holds kinda true for the others as well.
The Rani is still gorgeous. This is so weird.
February 6th, 2008 at 11:43 pm
Is it just me, or do the 7th and 2nd Doctor look more taller than we previous saw them?
February 7th, 2008 at 12:56 am
Yay, update! *does the Rich has updated some Ten Doctors Wonder dance*
…Hmm. I always knew that 6 was one evil bugger. (Just kidding. I’m sure this is all part of a grand scheme).
…Yay for the Rani. Although, I must say, Rich…you make her look faaar prettier than she ever truly was on the tv. =P
February 7th, 2008 at 1:03 am
I love 7’s expression in the 3rd panel.
February 7th, 2008 at 1:35 am
I love it! Absolutely love it. I didn’t have time for a long while to check your page and then kinda sort of forgot about it *ducks*. I had about 10 or more pages I hadn’t seen. How do you plan all of this? Do you know the end already or have an outline you use b/c it’s brilliantly made. I’ve seen online comics that people make and they stop b/c it wsan’t planned out well. I hope that doesn’t ever happen to you. *Eagerly anticipates more “The Ten Doctors”*
February 7th, 2008 at 1:36 am
They’re not taller, but now they’re standing next to Glitz who is only a little taller than them… I love how 3 jumps in with the edit for the children on Glitz’s speech, lol.
6’s attack is quite timely…as long as he doesnt blow his earlier selves up! And what could the Rani be up to now?
February 7th, 2008 at 2:25 am
Glad to see Six again. He was always my favorite.
February 7th, 2008 at 3:25 am
Yeah, definately looks to me like the little Doctors have sprouted. *Waits for a shot of their feet to see if they’ve borrowed a couple pairs of the Rani’s heels.*
They’re not Hobbits anymore!
I love Seven’s ’shocked revelation’ face. *chuckle* All the characters are looking quite smashing here. And it’s nice to end on another high note. (cliffhangers make me worry…
February 7th, 2008 at 4:23 am
Prrrroblematic
brilliant!
February 7th, 2008 at 6:06 am
And how, pray tell, does Glitz know what “Nimon shi-” taste like?
*Sits patiently for gratuitous bikini shot of the Rani*
February 7th, 2008 at 6:13 am
Oh brilliant
I’m just wondering, what the Daleks are firing at, I can’t really picture Six to have them shoot at two of his other incarnations, that would be a form of suicide after all.
(Maybe there’s a target for practise on the wall around the edge?)
February 7th, 2008 at 7:00 am
I think they’re firing on the imperial daleks but the 2nd and 7th doctors and Glitz and the Rani get caught in the crossfire? i can’t wait to see the ending!
February 7th, 2008 at 8:40 am
Just so much more fantastic stuff!
It’s great to start the day with an update of this comic!
February 7th, 2008 at 8:52 am
I don’t think the firing is on board the ship, but is rather ship-to-ship. As in, 6’s Renegade Dalek ship is firing on the Imperial Dalek ship where 2 and 7 are. I gather this from the fact that the last panel shows the Renegade Daleks and 6 in what looks like the control room of a Dalek ship.
And I nearly had a choking moment with Glitz and his Nimon shi-. I’m with Creeping Spleen, though - I’d also love to know how Glitz knows what it tastes like.
And it’s so wonderful to see Two (hear, really, ’cause I can hear Troughton’s voice in my head when I read this) saying “my giddy aunt”. Ah… fond memories.
*joins Kat in the Ten Doctors happy dance*
February 7th, 2008 at 9:25 am
Oh my giddy aunt!
I have to start saying that, it’ll make me laugh. XD. Hooray for Glitz betraying the Daleks!
February 7th, 2008 at 9:29 am
I can’t think of anything coherant to say other than “YAY!!”
:p
February 7th, 2008 at 10:42 am
How does 2 know the Rani?
February 7th, 2008 at 11:35 am
Rolled rrrr’s roXor
Just truly noted this, but I like how 7’s been putting the lie to his “2nd Doctor Redux” status by being less “silly”, more controlling and more aware of everything, even when he’s not pulling all the strings (which is obvious to anyone watching his last 2 seasons, but is thrown into total focus here by teaming him with 2), especially because his initial appearances in this story were Season 24-esque
I’m presuming the Rani is meant to be on her first body still, which is quite a feat considering she’s easily over 900 - either that, or 2 has met this incarnation before, or the old Time Lord telepathic recognition is actually working today
Keep it up, keep it up
February 7th, 2008 at 11:39 am
7’s expression in the 3rd panel
lol
February 7th, 2008 at 12:28 pm
I’ve been waiting for a “Oh my giddy aunt…”
February 7th, 2008 at 1:27 pm
As far as I can tell, the TimeLord telepathy is working on everybody but the out of time (on Galafrey timeline) Doctors- as in only 8 is recognized, except by those in on the plot, The Master and Rani, (and also the Monk and the other villians in on the 10 Doctors scheme) so the Doctors should know who Rani is .. tho the 2nd (and 1-5) perhaps only by shared memory or reputation. She need not be on her first incarnation, but could be on the same one that she was when she met 6 …she is a survivor who likes to cut her losses if an experiment fails!
February 7th, 2008 at 2:13 pm
What Is Six Upto I Wonder, Is That Him Or The Keeper!!!
Also The Rani Never Met 1-2, 8, 9-10 She Only Met 3,4,5,6,7 (3,4,5 In Dimensions In Time, That’s What The Rani Ment About Her And Romana Meeting In The Future, Becasue Romana Was In Dimensions In Time)
February 7th, 2008 at 2:42 pm
Ahhhh!! Rich, you have got Troughton dead on, I did the biggest squee when I saw “Oh my giddy aunt!”!!
Also, have you seen a Dead Ringers’ sketch (which is on YouTube) called “Christmas at Doctor Who’s”? It very lovingly pokes fun at the show, and is worth a look if you haven’t seen it; that goes for all of you!
February 7th, 2008 at 3:10 pm
Oh I agree. Rich you sure know your Troughton! It’s such a pity that Troughton is the doctor with the most missing episodes, because he may well be the best one ever.
February 7th, 2008 at 3:33 pm
Squee! 6!
February 7th, 2008 at 3:36 pm
The rolling Rs! Yay! I was wondering when they’d turn up.
February 7th, 2008 at 3:40 pm
Chris, I always thought that the doctor knew the Rani from back at the academy. 6 seems to know her well already by the time they meet in the Mark of the Rani.
February 7th, 2008 at 4:10 pm
Alright! SIX!!
Aw, bless, lookit him, all proud and puff-up as ever. Play it t’the hilt, Six. I’ve got no idea what you think you’re doing, but darn it if it won’t be fun to watch you!
I gotta admit, Rich, I hadn’t had any exposure to Colin Baker’s Doctor before I read your comic, but the way you had him fast-talking the Daleks awhile back just sparked my interest and made me check it out. And then subsequently get my grubby mitts on everything of his I could. Thanks. I think you helped me find my favorite Doctor. (Sorry, Nine.)
Oh, and disapproving!Troughton in panels 4 and 5 is spot-on. Oh my giddy aunt…heh. Hooray!
February 7th, 2008 at 4:55 pm
In regards to the Rani’s regenerations, Time Lords have the ability to recognize each other through their changed bodies (minus exceptions). 2 clearly remembers her from an earlier incounter.
In regards of 6, what the HELL is he doing?! Is it a plan to distract both Dalek sectors? Does he know 2 & 7 are there and coming to their rescue? And what were the results of his interrogation? And what is 4 thinking as he watches him: “Oh brother. What a prat!”
In regards to Glitz: D’OH! (Wha, Wha, Wha, Whaaaaaaa….) That’s our Glitz! He’ll be back in… Seriously, Glitz is a clever rascal. He even had the Doctor fooled!
February 7th, 2008 at 6:08 pm
I don’t claim to have any sort of insight into the mind of a Time Lord, but I think 6 is playing for time. If he doesn’t maintain the ruse that he’s the Keeper, he’ll be exterminated.
Ooh, that got me thinking- in Revelation, the gray Daleks didn’t know he was the Doctor, but the white ones did. Let’s see if that ends up coming into play here.
February 7th, 2008 at 6:43 pm
Pure. Unadulterated. WIN!!!
Love the “Oh my giddy aunt!” out of Two.
And for the record — those worried about how Two knows the Rani… As someone mentioned before, the various Doctors seem to have their Time Lord Telepathy unhindered (after all, Three and Five recognized The Master even though he’s hijacked himself a new body again). In “The Mark of the Rani” it was indicated that the Rani was kicked off of Galifrey before the Doctor left because he knew the details of how and why she was banished. So yes, ALL incarnations of the Doctor should know her.
February 7th, 2008 at 7:06 pm
Must have mooooooooore! I’m loving this, and can’t wait to see what 6 is up to . . .
February 7th, 2008 at 8:18 pm
Nice to see somebody get one over on 7, and it just fits Glitz to do it. Really excited to see what 6 does next.
February 7th, 2008 at 9:39 pm
OH MY GIDDY AUNT!
February 8th, 2008 at 5:11 am
The Rani’s reputation is such that the Second Doctor could easily have heard of her. When the Seventh says ‘Ah yes. Rani’, the Second was probably already conscious and preparing to join the action. As has been pointed out, the Sixth Doctor didn’t need to be introduced to the Rani in her first TV appearance as she was already known to him.
By the way - the sixth doctor is the only incarnation that could look comfortable commanding Dalek forces - and even enjoy it! Excellent characterisation.
February 8th, 2008 at 9:22 am
not to mention, the Doctor and the Master were at school together, so chances are, so was the Rani…
February 8th, 2008 at 10:51 am
Heh, whoa. My understanding is that the Rani was indeed the Doctor and the Master’s classmate (and should show up every time 10 lies about his age). I was thinking along the lines of how the Master was initially difficult to recognise by 1 and 3 as a sign that Time Lord telepathy is not absolute - though obviously the Master is a Trakenite by that point, which is an explanation - but nevertheless, I think all Doctor’s would know the Rani. If the telepathy was on the blink, then I could see 2 hearing her name from 7 as another good fit for his recognition of her
Either way, it’s fun having a strip like this easily bridge points of time between the show’s seasons
February 8th, 2008 at 2:18 pm
Will the Guardians be making an appearance at some point in the future?
February 8th, 2008 at 3:43 pm
“Oh My Giddy Aunt” Classic
February 8th, 2008 at 8:38 pm
I personally think 6 all puffed out is perfect. classic!
February 8th, 2008 at 9:48 pm
Gumblejack!
February 9th, 2008 at 12:01 am
Are you like the BBC Doctor Who story writer or something! This would make a great Doctor Who episode (even though it would be in lots of parts) This is brilliant, fantastic what else can i say!!
February 9th, 2008 at 6:08 am
The Doctors Aren’t Taller The Rani Is Bent Backwards Slightly To Avoid The Blast
February 9th, 2008 at 2:45 pm
Must be a multi-appearance space time distortion that is shrinking increasingly the size of 2 and 7! I tought that 2 was taller than 7 at first.
Well if this was produced by BBC it should be in cartoon and with some impersinators of long passed actors because imagine the budget to be putted in there and in how many parts to do it.
I’m starting to get a weee bit lost now. I should try to re read back at least 20 pages each time I get to the last
But I really think it’s great. For all the time I was waiting for a all Doctors!
February 9th, 2008 at 2:48 pm
I just found this site today. I bookmarked the archives to read later, but I just couldn’t keep from coming back and reading the whole thing.
As Nine would say, “Fantastic!” As Ten would say, “Brilliant!” And as Three would say, “I’ve reversed the polarity of — ” No, wait, that’s not right …
February 9th, 2008 at 5:19 pm
love you…
r comics
February 9th, 2008 at 5:39 pm
Okay, I’ve waited too long.. let’s see if I can get you all here: Actually, I’m not going to answer each and EVERY one.. Just the ones with questions. To everyone who just said “Yay” or “Thanks” or something similarly kind, *HUGS* Thank you for reading.
Cap’n Shade: Um…it’s an upshot of the 6th Doctor. So he looks a little pudgier than normal, yeah.
Little Chris: True.. though that was a time short differential thing. Different situation for him. And I always thought the Rani was a bit of a hotty, myself.
Victor: Yeah, the sizes are impressions, not based on reality. They alter as my needs require.
Kat: Maybe the 6th Doctor IS evil! You never know! And as for a Rani…. see above comment.
Laura: Don’t worry, I won’t give up on this. It’s part planned, part improv.
The Creeping Spleen: I think it’s just an expression. On the other hand, Nimon feces are a chief ingrediant in a delicacy on Proammon. Or, was before the planet got destroyed. The Rani (like Arachne) is not inclined to strip down for mere humans to ogle her goodies.
Herk & Ch1ps: Heather is right, they’re supposed to be in another ship firing at Davros’ ship.
Chris: It was established in “Time & The Rani” that the Doctor and the Rani were in university together. As most TimeLords can identify eachother regardless of regeneration, it makes sense that the 2nd Doctor would know who she was.
Laura: The 6th Doctor is your new favorite? Hmmm… well, good for Colin Baker, I guess. If they’d written him better he’d have been one of the best, I’m sure.
Thomas: Don’t ask, don’t tell.
Mrs.Dalek: No no no! Heheheh, no I draw storyboards for children’s television in Canada. Working on Doctor Who in some capacity is just a pipe dream. This is probably as close as I’ll ever get.
Marquise: Yeah, it gets a bit meandery, but don’t worry, it will start coming back together soon.
Hitbob: Awww. gawrsh.
February 10th, 2008 at 12:29 am
I say Rich, have you seen the Bablecolour Doctor tributes yet? If not I think you would enjoy them.
February 10th, 2008 at 1:22 am
i wish i could recall the story now, im sure it was in a Doctor Who Magazine, the seventh doctor faces up against these horribly big spider like creatures, that feast on fear and other negative emotions.
any how, featured the seventh doctor, Susan teagan i think, and sarah jane smith, anyway when susan comes out of this trance, she knows her grandfather, an ability as allready mentioned several times here, to recognise who each other are, sweet deal!
February 10th, 2008 at 10:24 am
I promised myself I’d just read this a page a day, so as to savour the entire thing properly.
I failed.
I got far too engrossed and carried on reading. Brilliant. I’m impatiently waiting for the next instalment!!!
Best wishes,
The Offstager

Hi, after browsing for a while, I just had to comment. First of all, I am very impressed by your dedication to this comic. Not to mention your obivous talent!
Thanks for including so many characters from ‘Doctor Who’. I’ve only seen the new series and a few of the older episodes (and yes the TV movie too), and I’m excited to check out some of the characters that you’ve put in. (And thanks for giving Eight an important role, he is so often ignored.)
Great work! Happy (late) New Year!
February 10th, 2008 at 3:55 pm
This work is as important a contribution, in my opinion, as anything in the Whoniverse because of your ability to give the characters the same life the actors gave in their initial performances! No cardboard cutouts or tired dialogue, their roles are fresh, spontanious and true.I feel just as excited to know what happens next as I do watching the serial! Plus, Your artwork is as good as being there! As an artist, I can’t help but admire and envy your easy renderings of things in action(though I know it isn’t actually easy) You’ve really pegged down a lot of what I didn’t know I was missing until now: Dr.Who isn’t just a show, it’s the adventure that never ends.Thank you so much!!! I look forward to every panel.
February 11th, 2008 at 11:27 am
Rich, lol, and also can u crown wulfae for telling me how to change me img
February 11th, 2008 at 12:10 pm
*crowns herself* XD
February 11th, 2008 at 5:42 pm
Alright, alright, I admit it…I misjudged Glitz. I’m sorry, Glitz; self-interest doesn’t have to be stupid…or vicious. And I particularly liked him passing off what is essentially cod-liver oil for the disease specimen. Tastes like Nimon…ah…excrement indeed .
February 11th, 2008 at 5:44 pm
And I’m still a purple hexagon with just…one…tooth.
February 12th, 2008 at 9:32 am
The 2nd Doctor: Please Stop Shooting Us
The 6th Doctor: Er No Hahahahahahahaha
February 12th, 2008 at 1:21 pm
In keeping with the formulation of this comic, I think that would be
The 6th Doctor: Erm No Hahahahahahahaha
February 13th, 2008 at 5:01 am
why is Rose’s hair cut short she has long hair when shes with the ninth docter.
P.S Im Julia sister Leeanne (grat work)
February 13th, 2008 at 7:25 am
GAH!
You got me! Just rechecked “Father’s Day” and “The Empty Child” (The episodes this takes place between from her perspective) her hair is long and tied up. Doh.
My reference picture comes from a later (10th Doctor) episode and it never occurred to me that her hair would have been changed that much. Thanks for pointing that out. And aw crap. 81 pages is far too late for a redraw, though.
February 13th, 2008 at 11:28 am
Rich, there’s a pretty simple explaination for the discrepancy. Wibbly-wobbly, Timey-wimey! If the stress of two versions of the same Timelord being together can do strange things, what would nine of them do? And since Rose is so closely linked with not one but two doctors… We’re lucky that only her hair changed length.
February 13th, 2008 at 12:33 pm
It’s the time differential shorting out for her, causing her hair to catch up to where it would be by Ten’s subjective time.
February 13th, 2008 at 12:36 pm
Well played! Nicely played, I say.
February 13th, 2008 at 2:48 pm
Now that’s Cricket!
February 13th, 2008 at 4:15 pm
AIEEEE! I just read thru all 81 episodes…and there’s no moar!!!
February 13th, 2008 at 5:06 pm
Patience, Scavenger… patience. At least you have a cool-looking avatar.
February 13th, 2008 at 5:13 pm
And presto: Wish granted! Hehehehe
February 13th, 2008 at 8:03 pm
Wow, you did get a sweet avatar, Scavenger!
February 20th, 2008 at 4:03 pm
Huh mines not exactly the best, to be honest it’s rubbish
