The 10 Doctors: Page 70
The 10th Doctor skulks about in the corridors in the archives section of Gallifrey. He runs into Damon, who surprisingly doesn’t recognize him. At all. Deciding it isn’t worth pursuing, he informs Damon that he’s looking for the Doctor and Damon asks him to give him a message.
That’s when Maxil shows up and shoots Damon with a staser.

Wow! I’m left speechless..
how come Damon doesn’t recognise the Doc though?
Something fishy is going on…
November 30th, 2007 at 8:28 am
Poor Damon!! I liked him.
I always thought the stasers had regeneration inhibitors in ‘em or somthing…
November 30th, 2007 at 8:33 am
There was an old book called the Gallifrey Chronicles, sort of a this is how one author explains the Dr Who universe with science and his own ideas. It was a neat book. It said that stasers DID disrupt a TImelords ability to regenerate. Because as Rassilon said “When I shoot someone I like to know they stay dead.” or something to that effect.
Cheers

That certainly makes a lot of sense, ThePromethean. Not just in the continuity of the show, but also given the Time Lords aren’t stupid. Poor Damon though.
*snicker* Rich, you clever little creature. Top Ten best. Classic.
November 30th, 2007 at 9:21 am
ThePromethean ~ Oh, Rassilon. Renowned Time Lord, renowned d*ckhead. We love you so. XD
November 30th, 2007 at 9:35 am
Maxil is such a bastard. I hope he’s ready to feel Ten’s fury.
Also, I find it strange that Damon didn’t recognize the Doctor. Don’t Time Lords have a psychic ability to recognize people they know after they’ve regenerated?
November 30th, 2007 at 10:20 am
I rather suspect that’s a key plot point, someone is tampering with time! I’d also have thought he doesn’t recognise Ten because Ten only came into being at a point in time after Gallifrey was destroyed. They may have the same problem with Nine.
November 30th, 2007 at 10:21 am
So where did 10 get the Gallifreyan robes from?
Sorry, not really nitpicking… I’m absolutely loving this! I can’t wait to get back to poor Two though (Troughton is my fave) — left unconscious somewhere. Interesting idea to put Two and Seven together since those two really were more the master manipulators of people.
Incindentally, a while back someone asked about the heights of the actors who have played the Doctor but one of those they didn’t have a height on was Patrick Troughton. Well, one website I saw a few months back gave his height as 5′ 9″
In the meantime, keep up all the good work. I’ve been posting links to this all over the place, trying to hook more people in.
November 30th, 2007 at 10:39 am
Love 10! You’ve got him perfect!

November 30th, 2007 at 11:37 am
Maxil never really got what was coming to him in ‘Arc of Infinity’ and that kind of bugged me. then they went and made him doctor # 6 ! i’d say that #10 not being recognized is a plot point tied to his regeneration being after the planet was destroyed.
I love the interactions between #2 and #7. Too bad they never had a crossover episode.
November 30th, 2007 at 12:08 pm
yay! ten!
*happy dance*

*dies* Ten is wearing his Robes. XD have to wonder, did he grab them motheaten from the wardrobe, or snitch them off some rack while their owner was in the shower? Probably the latter.
Hm. I wonder if Maxil will recognise Ten…he is working with the Valeyard after all. Or is that just my assumption? hm.

I love this comic so much, I find it hard to express how thankful I am to you for doing it Rich. You are like a god!
And yey for 10!
And nooo for Damon!
This is to intense!
November 30th, 2007 at 1:39 pm
Impulse laser?
November 30th, 2007 at 2:46 pm
Great, great stuff! Now I’m waiting/wondering when we’ll get to see the Shalka Doctor. No matter what, it’d be nice to see Rich’s rendition!
November 30th, 2007 at 3:48 pm
Where did 1 go?
November 30th, 2007 at 4:40 pm
Oh, Damon. I would not like to be in Maxil’s shoes right now. 10 does NOT stand for this kind of thing gladly! Have 1 and 10 slit up? I hope maxil gets 1’s cane upside his rotton curly-haired head!
November 30th, 2007 at 4:47 pm
“Now I’m waiting/wondering when we’ll get to see the Shalka Doctor.”
Rich doesn’t seem to like him very much. So I don’t think we’ll see him any time soon. Plus, we haven’t delved into alternate realty themes yet, and it may not become an issue anyway.
November 30th, 2007 at 6:47 pm
Wow Ive only just found this and it is fantastic, I love the way youve got the dialog for each of the charecters just right, keep it up I cant wait for the next part

Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong here folks, but aren’t Time Lord staser pistols non-lethal?
November 30th, 2007 at 8:54 pm
I don’t think Ten being from after Gallifrey’s destruction should be an issue… Drax recognized Nine.
November 30th, 2007 at 9:02 pm
Hmm, Ten is much less “cute” here than he was earlier on and looks older. I wonder if that’s a reflection of how he’s turning out on the show?
Anyway, I like where you’re going here, and despite it not looking likely, I hope Damon can regenerate!
November 30th, 2007 at 11:31 pm
Stasers are not only instantly lethal, they compleatly destroy biological tissue even after the target is dead. After one hour the victims body is charred beyond recognition. [The Deadly Assassin, Season 14, Episode 3, Oct. - Nov. 1976] (Doctor #4).
Some form of cellular disruption I’ll warrant. A Timelord weapon must naturally be able to kill a Timelord and prevent regeneration.

Romana, Two, Daemon… all lying on the floor. WHO’S NEXT?! Will they be alright?? EEP.

Here, here on the Maxil bashing! Shooting people isn’t nice!
The Doctor really is full of himself isn’t he?
I like seeing a wee bit of the Doctor’s old habit of picking up disguises coming out again.
December 1st, 2007 at 12:12 am
Shooting someone isn’t nice, yes, but shooting someone in the back well… that’s just rude isn’t it?
December 1st, 2007 at 12:15 am
BTW Rich, pay us no mind about the spelling, It’s all in good fun. I mean, its not like I’m any better… compleatly… UGGGHHH!!!
December 1st, 2007 at 1:40 am
Is anyone else getting a disturbing feeling of cognitive dissonance from seeing Ten walking around on Gallifrey?
December 1st, 2007 at 2:26 am
Yes, even the Doctor Who RPG stated stasers are designed in neutralizing the Regenerative Effect. Also to The Adventurer, yes, I’m sorry about going wild with IDW. Sometimes like The Doctor, I get so caught up within the moment I tend to forget about the nasty thing called Reality.
Though I seriously doubt the BBC would get huffy if they got wind of this. After all Jean Airey once composed the famous crossover between Dr. Who and Star Trek (The Doctor and The Enterprise) self-published with permission from Paramount and the BBC and neither company was upset by it. Considering they viewed it as a fan work than someone deliberately ripping off the work.
In fact, they would be crazy not allowing Rich’s work here because not only does the artwork look splendid (has a Hero Bear and the Kid feel to it), but he’s really done his research with the characters and the stories behind them. It definitely would make an excellent read.

Brilliant (as 10 would say). I had an issue on how he was drawn before (his jacket is never fully unbuttoned), but that seems to have been cleared up now. Though, about his and 7’s ties…
I can’t tell who I’m most looking forward to catching up with next re: the Doctors. 7, 9 and 4 are my very favourites, but it has been a wee while since 3 and 5 were in the frame and they seem to have had the least cool moments to boot (5 especally; 3 had the “midlife crisis” chat and the “midget hobo” diss after all). Looking forward to 2 waking up as well
Any chance of sneaking in the black Time Lord from ‘The Sound of Drums’s flashback scene? An innovation by RTD that was pulled off fairly inconspicuously, yet totally should be followed up on somewhere…
Awesome, awesome work, Rich. Especially as a relative newb like me gets to see all these old faces interact with the whole continuity caboodle
December 1st, 2007 at 11:58 am
Barima: Yeah, I figured it was a chance for him to relax, open the jacket. I had him do his jacket back up when it was time for him to start being Doctorish again.
As for the ties… what-evarrrr….:D
Each Doctor will get a chance or two to shine.
I could just drop in some ethnically diverse Time Lords I suppose. I mean, that guy could have been a significant character, I don’t know. But it’s definately possible. He’s not the first non-white Time Lord we’ve seen, though. Cho’Je was SUPPOSED to be. I mean, yeah, he was played by a white guy, but he was SUPPOSED to be Asian. So I drew him more actually asian for his appearance here.
Glad you’re enjoying it!

DrkFire666 - thanks for the clarification. Obviously my memory was playing tricks on me.
December 5th, 2007 at 7:43 pm
“The Doctor And the Enterprise” as I recall. was written chapter by chapter for a magazine, each volume with a new chapter to keep people buying it. Then the magazine decided to release it as a book - without notifying or paying the writer. There was a huge lawsuit, the writer won, the result of which all copies of the book were to be destroyed… so you only find it used bookstores, one of those rare rate finds. If you have a copy - lucky you.
So, not really an example to inspire Rich
On the other hand “word of net” is leaking out on this thing, and every fan loves it! Surely someone may find a way to publish it some day …
but in the mean time, keep cranking out those pages! You are making my holiday!
December 26th, 2007 at 9:31 pm
OHMINONEXISTINGOD…That f***ing freaked me out! Damon, dead! I hope this won’t happen to Romana!
March 19th, 2008 at 8:11 pm
One of the top ten best, lol.
