The 10 Doctors: Page 67
The 8th Doctor climbs up to a cave in a mountian, but gets attacked by a mysterious old woman.
And old woman who turns out to be Leela and her best friend, K9 mark 1!
(Like you didn’t see THAT coming)
Edited: This is Rich’s wife - I’m in his blog, h4xx0ring his entry… it’s Rich’s birthday today! Show him the love!

Great art and great story telling.

November 22nd, 2007 at 9:13 am
KOOL u realoly good at drawing!
November 22nd, 2007 at 9:26 am
I haven’t commented before, but I gotta say I love this comic! It’s so awesome, from story to art and the way you’ve weaved everything together, gah. I barely know anything about old Who and yet I can follow it and everything. Plus I’m learning! XD Happy Birthday man!
November 22nd, 2007 at 9:30 am
Iu: The Fourth Doctor’s “middle” companion. She fits in between Sarah Jane and Romana. Check out Wikipedia.
November 22nd, 2007 at 9:32 am
Happy Birthday!
Keep up the good work! Your comic just keeps getting better! I love your style of drawing!
November 22nd, 2007 at 9:45 am
No, I didn’t see that coming….and a very Happy Birthday!! Loving this comic!!!
November 22nd, 2007 at 9:47 am
Leela’s a tough old lady! (Not that I’m surprised.) And thank you, K-9, for making sure she doesn’t kill 8. He’s had enough bad luck with women getting him killed.
November 22nd, 2007 at 10:03 am
Happy birthday, Rich! For your present, just let me tell you again how much I love this comic. I visit this site every day (sometimes twice a day) and love to see a new comic appear.
Speaking of new comics - wow, Leela got old.
She’s still kicking arse I see, though. But damn, they’ve been kidnapping her children? I can’t believe the citadel’s still standing - combine Leela’s natural ferocity with the instincts of a mother protecting her young … ouch.
And what about Andred? Is he still with her? Has he regenerated? Inquiring minds wish to know your take on this.
Oh, and happy turkey day to all the Americans out there.
November 22nd, 2007 at 10:18 am
Haha, I knew it was Leela! Who else? :oD
Happy birthday, Rich! Hope you have a good one :o)
November 22nd, 2007 at 10:25 am
I’m shocked the Eighth Doctor can remember! Shocked!
November 22nd, 2007 at 10:26 am
Well see Andred wound up in a shootout with a CIA agent named Torval… oh wait… audios aren’t cannon… nevermind…
November 22nd, 2007 at 10:27 am
Happy B-day Rich!
November 22nd, 2007 at 10:31 am
Happy Birthday!!!!
November 22nd, 2007 at 10:42 am
One: Happy birthday Rich.
Two: I hate Dr. Who, but I love your Dr. Who. Curse you.
HRH.
November 22nd, 2007 at 10:57 am
No, I certainly didn’t. You are a shrewd and clever one, Rich. Poor Leela though. And poor us fanboys. I was hoping for the hot and scantily clad Seva’teem warrior I knew so well from the old days. Still, things change I suppose.
It is upsetting, though not terribly surprising, to know that Time Lords have been taking children from the other Gallifreyans. I suspect this may influence Eight’s decision later on to destroy both Skaro -and- Gallifrey in the Time War, when he couldn’t sacrifice Earth for virtually the same reason.
So does this make… all three of the K-9’s accounted for? I wonder what’d happen if they met?
November 22nd, 2007 at 11:05 am
Happy Birthday! I love your comic, the story is fantastic, I can’t wait to find out what happens next! Thank you!
November 22nd, 2007 at 11:34 am
haha, happy birthday! this is fantastic! and ya for the wife’s mad haxxor skillz!
November 22nd, 2007 at 11:41 am
Oh my goodness! Thank you everyone! It IS a good day today.
Yeah, my wife is the BEST!
Leela, is, as others have said, one of the 4th Doctors companions who left to live on Gallifrey.
This is the original K9,(mk 1). Mark 2 is seen in this comic travelling with the 4th Doctor & Romana, (or actually, Drax and the 9th Doctor). Mark 3 was destroyed in “School Reunion” and mark 4 is with Sarah Jane, Romana and Jamie as they dodge Cybermen and Daleks.
Sorry about Leela being older, but I’m all about storytelling and less about sexy women. Well, not entirely true. Feel free to browse my other comic YAFGC for that. Or look out for panels with Peri’s boobs.
November 22nd, 2007 at 11:54 am
damn and curse it all, i wish i had a scanner, was gonna post a link to a humorous image, from a doctor who magazine comic story called, Happy Deathday!, where the eighth doctor finds himself tied on a huge birthday cake, with all his previous incarnations in the same predicament…but if you can imagine it, then it’s all good, seen it? even better….
So Happy Birthday!!!!!!

And thanks again for sharing your labour of love with us all. I *do* enjoy your vision(s) of the Doctor, and the sudden encounters with old friends gives me a smile every time…well, a smile and a bit of nostalgic heartache, too. Oh Leela, Sarah Jane, Harry — we all got old, didn’t we?

November 22nd, 2007 at 8:50 pm
Happy birthday!
I am very much enjoying this comic. Thank you so much for writing it! Brilliant stuff.
November 22nd, 2007 at 9:45 pm
Holy geez! Leela’s old! With kids! And a battered tin dog! Wow!
What a treat after Thanksgiving dinner. Kudos, birthday boy!
November 22nd, 2007 at 10:14 pm
Zaphod Beeblebrox: How can you know who Leela is, and not know what happened to her?
Leela fell in love with a TIme Lord (or maybe he was just a Gallifreyan…Whatever.) named Andred and stayed behind on Gallifrey after the Invasion of Time. Four left the original K9 with her.
November 22nd, 2007 at 10:14 pm
Oh, and Happy Birthday Rich!
Too bad your Mom couldn’t hold on a little longer, then you’ve have the same Birthday as Doctor Who!
November 22nd, 2007 at 10:25 pm
Brilliant! For some reason it never occured to me that Leela would be older. Bravo! That’s much better than expectations because it makes loads more sense.
I’ve enjoyed the heck out of this comic. This blows any possible other multi-Doctor story out of the water!
Keep up the good work, can’t wait to see what happens next.
And Happy Birthday!
November 22nd, 2007 at 10:29 pm
Hey everyone!! Thank you all so much!
You make a simple cartoonist very happy.
I talked to my mom about that, Kari. She was very contrite but informed me that she had planned my birthdate to celebrate the first on-air interracial kiss as seen on Star Trek, Nov.22 1968. So I was mollified.
November 22nd, 2007 at 11:31 pm
Kudos on introducing an older Leela. Since timelords are barred from time traveling within Gallifrey’s own history, it would have to be an older version of Leela to remain somewhat consistent with canon, which is one of the many things that make your comic so great. Here’s to hoping we get to see Leela’s kids playacting some of Four’s adventures with their mom.
November 22nd, 2007 at 11:52 pm
Many good wishes on your birthday!
Your comic has been very enjoyable and great fun. Thank you!
November 23rd, 2007 at 1:38 am
Can’t recall when I’ve enjoyed an sf romp so very much! Belated birthday wishes, Rich! And if you ever do publish an underground hard copy of this (what with those nasty copyright issues) I say you have no need to ink, colour, or otherwise spruce the thing up. It’s dandy as it is, and well worth top dollar!
*jeep!

November 24th, 2007 at 12:02 am
Happy Birthday Rich.
Only recently discovered your wonderful comic.
A fan of the show since it all began with William Hartnell—your story and drawings are an absolute delight!
Thank you.
November 24th, 2007 at 12:49 am
Still loving this comic Rich, happy belated birthday, hope you had a good one; I made you this animation out of two frames from the last page; http://img.photobucket.com/albums/1003/Number36/7to8.gif?t=1195878576 hope you like it.
Also I’ll add my agreement to those who said that that in addition to loving this comic, that they also love that it appears so regularly; I’ve seen many a web strip stall for months on end, or even indefinitely, for real world issues so it’s mighty impressive that you manage to keep it up (and with being a new dad on top of that (and while also producing the equally impressive YaFGC (and awww, poor Clover, BTW (and I’ll stop with the brackets now)))) so huzzah for you.
Cheers
-Dean
November 24th, 2007 at 12:53 am
Oh and well done for aging Leela BTW, I made a point about that in the audio section of OG ages ago about it seeming odd that she hadn’t in the audio series based on Gallifrey, despite it being clearly much later in Gallifeys history than when she’d been left there.

First time I’ve gotten to see this comic, and I love the artwork. Happy Birthday, btw. Love the story as well, I could see this being animated. Btw, I’ve learned IDW will be publishing a new Doctor Who comic series as well as reprints from his earlier adventures. Just thought you’d like to know. Once again, excellent comic, can’t wait to see what’s next.
November 24th, 2007 at 4:07 am

November 24th, 2007 at 8:34 am
Thank you thank you thank you all!
I’ll be doing more soon, and I hope it continues to entertain and spark memories, interest in the series, and laughs.
Sinead: Wow! Thank you! DId you actually watch the series back then when it was new? If so, you’ve probably seen episodes that nobody’s seen since! Much is the envy!
Dean, the animation you did is excellent! I’m amazed it lined up so well! Did you have to alter it at all? I just eyeballed the characters to make sure they looked more-or-less centered in their boxes.
Fangarius, I too could see it animated. Wish I had the time to do it. Alas.
Thank you Julia!
November 24th, 2007 at 3:48 pm
These are so much fun. I cannot wait to see what happens. You are very talented.
Thaks to my friends at the scirfi.com Doctor Who forum for posting when the updates are available
November 24th, 2007 at 6:12 pm
Happy (late) Birthday, Rich!
November 25th, 2007 at 12:21 am
No, thank you
and i just want to say did you have a plot worked out or are you making it up as you go. if you are than you have got a really really good imagination. My sister and i print out the pages so we can take it to school so when ever we feel we need alittle doctor who edge we just read it, mind you there are so many pages that we had to add more sleeves to the folder. THANK YOU!!
The time when i sent this in where i am was 3:20 pm on the 23rd November 2007.
November 25th, 2007 at 12:22 am
wrong date sorry.
November 25th, 2007 at 8:27 am
Musicdragon: Thank you! I tend to give lots of credit to my art to schooling and work. I’ve been drawing almost daily for 18 years so one tends to notice how things change. We’re our own worst critics of course, and there are parts of my comics that make me cringe and want to draw it over again. But the point was to have fun and get it online as fast as possible. So the fact that you’re enjoying it makes it all worthwhile!
Thanks to the scifi.com forum gang for following along! That’s just fabulous!
Julia: I actually DO have a plot all worked out in my brain. I know where all the storylines are leading and merging to. The actual interactions and dialogue are being made up as I go along. But, say for example I knew that the 9 Doctors had to get seperated from the companions on the Eye of Orion, and that the companions had to get captured by the Rani to be brought to the Cybermen. Getting that to happen was up to my inspiration at the time. I never know if these little scenes will be a few panels long or several pages. Consequently, I have no idea how long it will take me to finish this story, or how many pages it will be by the end of it. But there is definately an end and a lot more cameos and surprises to come.
November 25th, 2007 at 1:04 pm
Happy Belated Birthday Rich!
hope you had a good one, best wishes and many happy returns!
I was wondering about leela.. LOVE THIS COMIC!!!!
November 25th, 2007 at 7:20 pm
Rich;Dean, the animation you did is excellent! I’m amazed it lined up so well! Did you have to alter it at all? I just eyeballed the characters to make sure they looked more-or-less centered in their boxes.
Thanks, I’m glad you like it. I thought I had it animated to change a little quicker than it appears to be, I think the speed might have been changed a bit when I up-loaded it to the image host. The only thing I altered was replacing the lines around the head and the speech bubble in the second panel with those from the first panel.
November 25th, 2007 at 7:22 pm
Oh wait, it’s working at the right speed now, must have just taken a while for it load for me.
November 26th, 2007 at 12:21 am
Happy belated bday Rick -
Great job on the comics, this is the way to have the holidays fly by!
and Dean - I loved the animation bit! Thought it was perfect (maybe do it again if we get the page colorized at some point )
November 26th, 2007 at 7:10 am
Hi Rich, yes I did watch the series back then (in Australia, where it started airing around 1965). It is sad that many of those early episodes have been lost. Four decades on it is mainly impressions, feelings and odd snippets that remain with me.
How wonderful to have the Doctor back in new adventures. Your comic is the icing on the cake.

Happy Belated birthday. Just found this site via Millarworld and I cannot express how great it is.
I am sure you have been asked this before but are you planning on putting this into print? I would definately buy this.
Keep up the good work, the art is spot on and the story has kept me entertained for longer than I expected.
November 26th, 2007 at 10:49 am
AWESOME!!! Happy BirthDay Rich!
Now a new mystery creeps in.. why are they stealing children? who’s behind it?
At this rate you’ll never finish this thing… which is good. I love it.
November 26th, 2007 at 2:56 pm

I think the reason he couldn’t do it to Earth was because he had already done it to Gallifrey. Earth has been something of a second home for our Doctor, and after the pain of losing his first, he simply could not come to grips with destroying the second.

I didn’t see the Leela reveal coming, nice work. I’m loving this comic it’s bloody brilliant. So many K-9s it’s mad.
