The 10 Doctors: Page 64

Ace decides to go back and rescue Jamie.  Rose goes, too.  Tegan and Peri continue on their mission to find a way out and get help.   While Ace sets up to destroy a cyberman, she is nearly attacked from behind, but Rose jumps out and saves her, pushing the cyberman out into the other corridor, where both it and the other are EXTERMINATED by a white Dalek.

A Cyberman can be shoved? I figured they were too solid. Oh well. Lovin’ it anyways.

  2. DQ Says:

Old skool cybermen have more human bits in them than the Cybusmen (they can also be killed by gold coins fired from a slingshot, after all ;) ). I’d reckon it’s possible.

Awesome. Are the two stroppy Londoners going to become friends after all?

Nice Tegan-ish pout on panel 2.

  3. Lithium Says:

    Keep up the good work!

  4. Ron Says:

ANYTHING can be pushed over if it’s not on balance. If the Cyberman was walking and was taken unaware, then yes–he’d be pushed off balance.

  5. Rich Says:

Even the Daleks, with thier wide bases, get pushed and shoved in the series. Over cliffs, into water, out windows, into enclosed corridors, etc.

    So, sure. Why not, eh?

  6. Nick Says:

Yes, girls, one of the worst enemies of the Doctor are alive and well. I wonder what the Whingeing Duo will encounter.

BTW, nice reference to “The Moonbase” there, Rich. ;)

  7. Mreen Says:

    Cool!

Glad the nitro didnt go off then they fell to the ground tho- can’t wait to see the dynamic .. I mean Nitro Duo take on the Daleks!

  8. Laura Says:

Aw, yay! Maybe a bit of horrifyingly life-threatening situation faced with only the person they can’t stand as a comrade will get Ace and Rose to stop hatin’. They can be frenemies!

Hooray for quick updates! The only thing better than an awesome comic is an awesome comic that updates so often. It’s nice to get my fix.

  9. Mreen Says:

I agree - these quick updates have been my sanity savor during the hectic holiday week! Thank you!

lol- (laughing at myself) I was rereading the pages and came across my rant of companions roles on page 57 (I think) and the bit where I was going on (and on) about how it was important that we dont think each companion needs to regard the Doctor like other companions did - and it suddenly occurred to me that Barbara and Ian, first set of companions in the show, viewed him in a role no other companion has taken since - they each regarded him as sort of an imposed father-in-law, someone they didnt dislike, but might not have chosen for family, but by their own regard for each other, and Susan’s welfare, they were stuck with him

  10. Rich Says:

There’s a lot of exceptions to the rules in regards to Ian and Barbara.
For a start, they were basically the main characters and the Doctor and Susan were …erm…. support? I keep wanting to say “NPCs” like the gamer geek that I am. We were watching the adventures of two schoolteachers who get whisked around time and space by these two alien people, the titular strange old man (who was as much a vehicle as the TARDIS) and his strange granddaughter.
Eventually they came to realize, one supposes, that the Doctor was much more interesting than the companions that came and went and they become more and more support to him.

Then, of course, Tom Baker got his dream and his his one adventure with no companions at all, thus sementing it as the HIM show.

  11. Jess Says:

Amazing, brilliant, wonderful and fantastic as ever. You do the Whonivese proud!

  12. The Creeping Spleen Says:

Rose and Ace rolling round on the ground… I’d pay good money to see that. ‘Specially if they were nekkid. :)

  13. zanthine Says:

This story is so much fun! It does make me want to check out classic Who!

  14. Inutaisho01 Says:

Woohoo! Yes! I admit I was -almost- starting to wonder if you were going to have Ace badmouth Rose throughout the entire story, but yes! Alleycat and Shopgirl are gonna get along just fine! Just like Sarah Jane and Rose eventually did.

As for the pushing over of the Mondasian/Telos Cybermen… yeah I can see it happening. Especially if they don’t see it coming.

Ooooh, I smell an Oncoming Storm…

  15. Phantom Drummer Says:

(So sorry for that double post on the last page.)

All I can think of is that one line from “Doomsday”- “This is not war, this is pest control.” So cool, Rich, so very cool.

  16. Liz Says:

If you think about it, Rose and Ace are really similar. Stubborn, strong-willed Londoners who refuse to listen to the Doctor but really care about him anyway.

  17. Cynthia Wakefield Says:

The Creeping Spleen sayeth what I was thinking but had not the nerve to speak aloud.

  18. DrkFire666 Says:

Pre-Time War Daleks and the Cybermen are still rubbish against them.

Rose and Ace rolling about on the ground with each other. I think I need a cold shower, d’you think that’s odd?

  19. Kelly Says:

Aww! Rose and Ace look adorable in the last panel!

  20. Archangel Beth Says:

…AHHHHHH! This is… AHHHHH! I’ve been reading through, and… AHHHHHH!

*cough* I’m sure I’ll be coherent again eventually. Maybe. This is excellent stuff. Please, more?

  21. Hooper_X Says:

Oh, man. I just read the whole thing in one sitting.

    Fan freaking tastic.

    So.

When do Absalom Daak and Death’s Head show up, yes?

    -hx

  22. Rich Says:

    *falls over, laughing*

  23. Kat Says:

I wanted to predict something similiar to this (the Rose and Ace frenenenimes bit), but didn’t want to sound presumptous or something.

Still…I really fancy the two young modern companion girls kickin’ bad guy butt.

Not to complain, because I love watching the Companions work…but its been an awful long time since the Doctor (in any form) was about. =( Its too bad that they can’t go back and forth like the TV can!

    Even so….bravo, as ever!

  24. Justin Says:

NO! I’ve read them all x)

I unfortunately have only seen Doctors 9 & 10 in action; last night I did see the first episode with 1. But, that didn’t halt me from reading all the pages today. xP The art is splendid, the story enjoyable, and I’ve even enjoyed reading comments made by people. Keep it coming sir; well done. :)

  25. Rich Says:

    Yay! Thank you!

Don’t worry, Kat. You’ll see them again.

  26. Laura Says:

That’s one of the many things I’m lovin’ about this comic too, Justin. I’ve got next to no grounding in Classic Who except for a few library tapes. But the comic not only still manages to be acceptable to us NewFen, it’s totally making me want to get my grubby little mitts on as much of the Classic Who as I can.
…Hmm…should probably start hinting at that to th’ folks. Holidays and all…

I can’t help but hope for a little bit of the Cybermen vs. Dalek trask-talk they had in Doomsday.

  27. Madison Says:

I know that I have listened to the Wicked soundtrack far too much, because I could imagine those two singing “Loathing”.

  28. Anna the Piper Says:

Hiya! Just discovered your webcomic and had to come by and drop a comment. This is great stuff, and I love your take on all the Doctors and the Companions. Looking forward to seeing how it all plays out!

  29. Julia Says:

awsome thats what always happens they fight then something happens to make them like each other. same old same old. But keep up the good work! :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

  30. Dana Says:

Absolutely fantastic job, Rich…I’m really enjoying this. I hope this isn’t the last of it.

  31. The Adventurer Says:

I hope Rose doesn’t try to reason with this Dalek.

  32. Ryan Says:

    Hello Best Comic Ever

  33. Lila Kooks Says:

Oh, this comic is so entertaining! My hat goes off to you…congrats! You’ve nailed each character, and made their expressions so…distinguishing…lol! Please, keep up the wonderful work!

  34. Michael Says:

For some reason I’d like to see Tegan and Nyssa reunite. Any chance of bring back Adric?

On a side note, am I the only fan who loves the 7th Doctor, Rose and Adric or are there others who can put their judgements aside and simply enjoy everything?

  35. Countess Says:

I know people don’t seem to like Adric, but I had a bit of a crush on him when I was about 12. Sure, he was a bit of an annoying geek, but then so was I.
