Yay, Jamie!!! Our redoubtable Scotsman was never afraid of a barney, that’s for sure.
The question now is how badly was Romana hit - will she recover, or will she regenerate? I’m on tenterhooks to find out. Hurry up and draw, Rich.
November 15th, 2007 at 9:46 am
Way to go Jamie!
I hope Romana is ok.
Excellent work.
November 15th, 2007 at 10:02 am

November 15th, 2007 at 5:53 pm
I always thought that K9’s laser WAS a bit twee…
November 15th, 2007 at 6:05 pm
These Cybermen are just of pussys. A guy wearing a dress just smashed one down like it was nothing
November 15th, 2007 at 6:21 pm
I guess we can add “Can knock the block off a Cyberman in a single swing of the bat” to Jamie’s Skill-Set.
Best fan-comic EVER btw.
November 15th, 2007 at 6:35 pm
Good thing the 4th Doctor wasn’t there. He would’ve done FAR worse.
November 15th, 2007 at 6:41 pm
Kurt: “These Cybermen are just of pussys. A guy wearing a dress just smashed one down like it was nothing”
Hahahahah, I always thought that about the classic Cybermen. They’re supposed to be these ominous, frightening villains, but all you need is a slingshot and a handful of gold coins. Ace took out a whole platoon of ‘em that way.
One got downed by the gold edging on Adric’s star pin.
Let’s not even TALK about the ones in “Attack of the Cybermen” who are taken out by normal bullets in a policeman’s revolver, and get decapitated by the truckload by a couple of angry guys with metal limbs.
As Tom Baker said, they’re just kinda pathetic, really.
November 15th, 2007 at 6:48 pm
Hey, y’know what would be fun?
Photoshopped images that look like live action scenes from this comic!
Anyone up for amusing the artist?
*waits to see if there are any takers*
November 15th, 2007 at 8:08 pm
Ach, Jamie, you’re so hardcore!
Oh no! Romana! I don’t think stun guns go Rat-at-at!
November 15th, 2007 at 9:48 pm
The Cybermen’s guns do.
Sort of. It was the closest Onomatopoeia I could think of.
November 15th, 2007 at 10:17 pm
Amen, Rich! Bring on the AU Cybermen, who actually wear armor and are immune to gold (or so I’ve read)! And who don’t make idle threats and spare their enemies “on a whim!”
Your onomatopoeia works fine Rich. I know it’s tough with some of the odd sound effects we’ve heard over the years in Doctor Who.
I don’t see why Romana -couldn’t- regenerate in this story. The way I see it, either this is leading up to the events of the Time War, and thus, is going to result in the death of virtually every Time Lord and Lady anyway… or this is leading to the great “reset button” scenario given how complex events are occuring. Things that never happened in th “real” series. Like the Year that Never Was.
Probably just stunned though.
November 15th, 2007 at 10:52 pm
The Romana of this story has just finished Season 17 with Tom Baker and John Lesson Mrk II. She’s supposed to have this adventure with the Doctor, and then go back to the original timeline Season 18.
November 16th, 2007 at 1:37 am
Okay, I didn’t see that one coming.
*stays glued to the screen*
November 16th, 2007 at 2:27 am
I am loving this, I just found this site, and love your story, a little bit fanny, but I love it nether the less, much better than The 8 Doctors.
Have you considered a flash animated versions?
Keep ‘em coming!
November 16th, 2007 at 3:04 am
Hmm, Rich, that does sound fun… And I do like to take a challenge. Maaaaaybe over Christmas when I have some time! (I hope!)
And GO CYBER-BASHING JAMIE! Woot! (Makes me want to see more Jamie episodes!)
Now which scene to do…? *ponders*
November 16th, 2007 at 4:10 am
Wow. Found this comic earlier this evening and it’s now past midnight. Just can’t stop clicking “next”. Absolutely brilliant!
November 16th, 2007 at 6:07 am
You shot Romana! D:
*flail*
November 16th, 2007 at 7:20 am
Your comics are really amazing!
I can’t wait to see what happens next!
November 16th, 2007 at 7:44 am
Aaron J Climas: “…I am loving this, I just found this site, and love your story, a little bit *fanny*, but I love it *nether* the less, much better than The 8 Doctors”
Rich: Hahahaaha, terrible pun, my friend.
I’ve had that comment before. I’m not entirely sure what it means, though. It’s obviously a bad thing since people claim to love it dispite it’s fanniness or fannishness. I know that it reveals me to be a big fat fan-nerd-geek because of the amount of stuff I’m pouring into it. But… well, how does it come across as fan-ficky? And how could it NOT simply being what it is?
November 16th, 2007 at 10:27 pm
lol - I think people are afraid of fanfickiness, in which -most often - the fan’s favorite characters are overly revered, and the characters they like least, or felt undeservedly hurt their hero in a previous adventure, are portrayed as selfish brats who deserve the sticky end the fan puts them in, or nearly puts them in…often including a Mary Jane hero as well.
What they are saying is - they see where your fav’s and dislikes have colored it a bit, but for the most part you have remained true to the characters enough for everyone to fall in love with the comic for it’s endearingly faithful reproduction of our long missed characters, and if they havent fallen in love - they just cant help but fall in “heavy like” with the story even tho you don’t like their favorite character
November 16th, 2007 at 10:30 pm
AAAHHHH!!! Okay, thank you!
‘Tis true. I did colour it. I guess I just couldn’t help it, really. But, you’ll see… I’m not totally one-sided about it.
November 16th, 2007 at 10:36 pm
LOL - good enough for me!
Oh - I meant to suggest ‘zat-a-tat-tat’ - common scifi omiopedia to suggest energy over bullets. (no one will care if you change or not, just threw that out to ya)
November 16th, 2007 at 10:48 pm
Hehehe, sounds almost like a Stargate SG1 crossover.
November 17th, 2007 at 11:33 pm
“the fan’s favorite characters are overly revered, and the characters they like least, or felt undeservedly hurt their hero in a previous adventure, are portrayed as selfish brats who deserve the sticky end the fan puts them in, or nearly puts them in”
Mm. I can see that a bit, yeah. Was a little afraid to say it. But it’s Rich’s baby, and it’s such a friggen great story (and so nicely drawn!) that I’m not about to complain. Well, much. Me not complaining is like…um…Sarah Jane not tripping over things.
I have to say, though, that since I haven’t seen any of the Seventh Doctors adventures yet (hooray for school holidays! I’m hitting the vid store soon!), and since Ace tends to be, I dunno, a little mean and snotty, certainly just as bratty as another certain character is portrayed…well, I always figured I’d like Ace, just on principle, but now I’m not so sure.
Better find some canon and decide for myself.
November 18th, 2007 at 3:08 pm
You’ll like Ace - she made herself one of a kind, never callng the Doctor “Doctor” and rushing out there to blow things up and look after the Doctor as best she could …. and the Doctor -quite soon despite early grumbling - quickly came to regard her like a daughter (or granddaughter).
And I wasnt critisizing Rich, just explaining what people were saying when they said they dont like fanfickiness
November 18th, 2007 at 3:09 pm
oh - and …. zat-a-tat-tat SG-1 crossover ….. ouch!
November 18th, 2007 at 3:59 pm
Maybe I should make something clear here….
I don’t NOT like Rose. I actually thought she was a fun companion and enjoyed a lot of her episodes. I DIDN’T like the romance crap, which isn’t the character’s fault, it’s the writers.
I honestly believe I’m just being in character with her when I portray her getting jealous (citing the jealously scenes with her and Lynda-with-a-y or Sarah Jane Smith). And with Ace, who isn’t always a brat, just deciding that she doesn’t like someone and getting in as many digs as she can (citing her sniping scenes with Sabalom Glitz and some of the prats in “Survival”). Remember that they’re not getting a lot of individual air time to display their personas.
Besides it makes me laugh. And I AM going somewhere with it.
Characters I AM being admittedly unfair to are Peri and Mel. They just grate sometimes. And some of the characters I’m less familiar with, like Zoe. I’ve probably seen all the existing episodes, but I didn’t absorb the character as much as I did the ones I saw more of.
November 19th, 2007 at 9:35 pm
Go Jamie, go!

I agree with Aaron J and Gecks. But even if she *is* dead, then she can always regenerate. Right?

April 9th, 2008 at 1:02 am
Jamie rocks - and always will. As for the big Romana hoo-ha, she won’t regenerate or die, she has to resume traveling with the Doctor.
Rich, you’re brilliant - this is more entertaining than monkeys having a pie fight!
April 11th, 2008 at 10:58 am
Yeah, Jamie! He’s always a badass when he’s got a lady to defend, isn’t he.
April 11th, 2008 at 3:50 pm
levantaT: Wrong romana can’t regenerate without destorying the 4th Doctor’s timeline
May 12th, 2008 at 11:08 pm
Jamiiie! FTW!
