The 10 Doctors: page 56
The 9th Doctor dodges a bullet -so to speak- but realizes that he now faces certain death at the ‘hands’ of the Daleks.
That is, until he is mysteriously rescued by an old friend…

Ooh, that has to be D… Well, I won’t say, in case you’re keeping it secret for some reason.
I’m guessing his personal timeline is after that particular story in which he appears, otherwise he’d have to go through all that stuff about recognising the Doctor (TS) again.
November 8th, 2007 at 8:06 am
Nice to see Nine’s thoughts. He’s been rather quiet in your comic. I think I know who that guy is but should I know already what’s he doing in a car?
November 8th, 2007 at 8:09 am
And thanks a lot for the frequent updating. It’s so exciting I can hardly wait from one page to the next!
November 8th, 2007 at 8:26 am
what the hell was that a car TARDIS come on this is geting a bit silly but its still gd but i think that you need to have a look at your plot and look for silly bits and change them to something better also what happened to k-9!
also plz make the comic pages a little longer plz if u can
still loving thoe
November 8th, 2007 at 8:26 am
sorry for the rant but still comints stand
November 8th, 2007 at 8:27 am
Sorry mate. But sometimes the show is silly.
I’m just doing it true.
November 8th, 2007 at 8:29 am
one last thing for the day but in the tworchwood episode on the tv the doctor gets out and guns are pointed at him but if they had gone off then the TARDIS shilds would have stoped the bullits
(bad spelling)
PLOT HOLE ALERT!!!!!
November 8th, 2007 at 8:52 am
Huh. I half expected the 4th Doctor’s TARDIS to show up with K9 piloting it or something like that.
Mike, Crow and Tom: Oh, I can see where you… HUNH?!
November 8th, 2007 at 9:14 am
Paul, please shush. If you have better ideas then run along and write your own comic.
Rich, these updates have been insanely entertaining.
November 8th, 2007 at 9:16 am
Drax! lol…. Armegeddon Factor…. funny…..
November 8th, 2007 at 9:24 am
Hmm…that’s true, Paul.
But in the Fox film, the 7th Doctor steps out of the TARDIS and gets shot through the [left] heart and shoulder, which results in his regeneration into the 8th.
Are you trying to point out a plothole in this comic? Please give more details so I can confirm, deny, explain or fix.
Incidently, in this entire comic there is only 1 thing I’ve made up. And that’s the Lord President. Everything and everyone else was taken from the show or a show related media.
Yes, even the car TARDIS. I did not make that up, though it’s not in any way confirmed canon. I just didn’t have a better idea and I thought it was kinda cool.
Anyway, why is an old 50’s Caddy any sillier than a 50’s Police Box?
S’okay, U-Nikki… I welcome criticism as much as praise, really!
November 8th, 2007 at 9:28 am
Oh, and Paul, I can’t make the pages any longer. I can only scan in 8×11 pages and display one a day.
Well, okay, I COULD make them longer by editing them together… but I won’t. It’s not worth the effort and if it’s too much effort I’ll rapidly lose interest in doing more.
Sorry if it’s irking you, but that’s just the way it is.
November 8th, 2007 at 9:54 am
In the second frame I was half expecting the destroyed dalek to utter “Bugger” before it died.
November 8th, 2007 at 9:57 am
reminds me of the time when #7’s TARDIS was shaped like a car in the strips found in the DW magazine in the 80s? 90s?
November 8th, 2007 at 10:37 am
Someone already said it so I’ll join in….Drax! *waves* LOL
November 8th, 2007 at 11:13 am
My only complaint is that Dalek death beams seem to be moving incredibly slow today. But nevermind, it’s great fun all around. Nine being moody and then getting a crazy assist from an unexpected corner… it’s a notable meeting of the old series’ lighthearted sensibility meeting the new series’ sense of melodrama. I wonder how that’ll work out… Nine’s meeting so many old friends he’s lost, it must be like being in a haunted house.
November 8th, 2007 at 11:39 am
You know, at first I wasn’t sure who that was, but then I was like, “Is that Drax?” A quick check on Wikipedia and I’m correct. The Car-dis was featured in the Choose-Your-Own-Adventure “Doctor Who” novels, weren’t they? I thought it seemed familiar.
November 8th, 2007 at 12:42 pm
Rich — I thought it was the shoulder and leg? ‘Amazing Grace’ told the Doctor she’d gotten the bullets out just fine, but then she was freaking out about the (she thought) fibrillation. Part of the reason I can’t stand the woman — she killed the Doctor with something completely unnecessary.
(Although I’ve actually wondered about that — if there’s no next of kin of otherwise legally-appointed sort, to whom does it fall to make important medical decisions? I thought it was up to the head of the hospital, not to the surgeon on duty, and I didn’t see her getting any sort of higher order.)
And paul … why are you talking about no need for silliness in a comic based on a show where a phone booth towed a spaceship (Impossible Planet/Satan Pit)? That was the silliest visual in the history of visuals, and if it’s good enough for the show proper, I think a fan comic can get away with it.
November 8th, 2007 at 1:29 pm
Rich, any news from the person who was coloring these panels in for you on whether s/he will be able to continue? I just thought how awesome it would be to make avatars/icons from your comic (if you allowed it). Nine’s expression in the 3rd panel is priceless.
November 8th, 2007 at 2:16 pm
I still loves! and yay for more of nine
I’m not as strong on the classics (trying to watch as many as I can but there are limits to what I can find on the internet) so I have no idea who the mystery man in the car is… which makes this so exciting!
Thanks for the frequent updates!
November 8th, 2007 at 2:36 pm

I just found a link to this site on the Sci Fi Channel forums earlier this week and wanted to drop a little comment to thank you for your work. Really great stuff you have going on here and the writing is better than any fan fic I’ve seen. You really own the characters and setting and I can’t wait to see where the story goes.
I’m not too familiar with many of the classic Doctors (just Tom Baker from my childhood really), though I’m working on it. This series is a nice way to get to know the personalities of the Doctor before watching the classic episodes.
As an old school D&D player I took a look at your fantasy gamer comic too, nice work!
November 8th, 2007 at 3:40 pm
Hi!
I once saw the beginning of this comic somewhere, but until today I didn’t know there was so much more!
Keep going! This is great!
November 8th, 2007 at 4:01 pm
Okay- Who is Drax? Please forgive my ignorance, but I haven’t seen a huge number of the Classics, though I have seen some, and I haven’t read any novels or comic strips.
And what blew the Dalek up? Another Dalek?
November 8th, 2007 at 4:02 pm
That Nine-grin was very Four-ish.
November 8th, 2007 at 4:13 pm
It’s okay, Paul! Heheheh we’re still good!
Liz, Drax was a 1-shot guest character in Tom Baker’s episode “The Armageddon Factor”. A Time Lord classmate of the Doctor who wasn’t so hot in temporal theory, but was an ace at mechanics. He became a bit of a con-artist and contract-fix it guy for anyone with the cash to pay him. He called the Doctor “Thete”, which was short for Theta-Sigma, the name the Doctor went by in the academy apparently.
And yeah, the Dalek chased the 9th Doctor through the dooway, where they met up with 2 more Daleks coming the other way. The Doctor dove as they fired and they hit the one behind him.
November 8th, 2007 at 5:10 pm
Good… it’s Drax… shame I didn’t see the Armageddon Factor. I was thinking the whole day who it could be… I even thought about Antimony from Death Comes To Time.
November 8th, 2007 at 5:17 pm
Good ol’ Drax!!! But what’s he doing here? There must be some money to be made somewhere.
I’m not sure why the Doctor’s name at the academy was Theta-Sigma. I have always assumed that children of Gallifrey are not given names by their parents as Human children are. After all, Gallifreyan children are taken from the parents at age of 8 [New series III Ep. 12]. I guess they take their own names (or titles) after they leave the academy.

I just wanted to answer Kara’s question. She said, “Although I’ve actually wondered about that — if there’s no next of kin of otherwise legally-appointed sort, to whom does it fall to make important medical decisions? I thought it was up to the head of the hospital, not to the surgeon on duty, and I didn’t see her getting any sort of higher order.”
Answer: If it is a life-threatening emergency, and there is no one around to give consent (patient or family) the on-call physician most appropriate to deal with the situation may do whatever he/she deems necessary to preserve life. If hospital administration had to get involved, people would die due to wasted time.
What I hated about the movie was the surgeon at the scrub sink in hat, mask, AND FULL BALL-GOWN. Trust me, she’d change clothes.
November 8th, 2007 at 8:07 pm
lol Well, looks like I didn’t have to be coy. I didn’t want to give the game away in the very first post if people weren’t supposed to know it was Drax though.
November 8th, 2007 at 8:13 pm
You are spoiling us. Please don’t stop.
And I never really realised how similar those mad grins were! Four and Nine, and mean.
November 8th, 2007 at 8:14 pm
*I* mean, even. *facepalm*
November 8th, 2007 at 8:36 pm
Just when you think there’s an end to the plot twists…BAM! Totally unexpected cameo by the Doctor’s college buddy.
Which begs the question, did Drax survive the Time War, or is this before the war, in his timeframe?
Ooh, circular logic makes me dizzy.
November 8th, 2007 at 8:44 pm
Hey, I had the Decide your Fate (Is that what it was called) Doctor Who book with Drax and the Caddy.
It had Turlough and Peri travelling with Six.
November 8th, 2007 at 10:36 pm
DRAX! *cackles* he would have a caddie for a TARDIS. lmao.
November 8th, 2007 at 10:37 pm
Ammendment to former comment: for a second, I hoped it was Iris Wildthyme. XD Wonder what she’s up to? Oh lord, imagine the companion reactions. bwahahahah.
November 9th, 2007 at 12:47 am
I still have that book, and a couple of others.
November 9th, 2007 at 2:07 am
Loving this comic.
Especially loving the very painless and easy introduction to decades of Doctor Who lore. Running into old characters and having them explained here is infiniately more satisfying and interesting than reading Wikipedia. This Drax bloke sounds cool (and yet one more thing added to the list of old eps I need to watch).
Thanks for updating so frequently right now. I know what a pain it can be.
Oh, panel five. Quintessencial broody Nine moment.
November 9th, 2007 at 3:35 am
DRAX FOR THE WIN!
November 9th, 2007 at 3:36 am
Oh, and I’ve always assumed that “Theta Sigma” was a frat name.
November 9th, 2007 at 4:19 am
Oh, this is all very good so far, very accomplished. Only just found it this morning, and you’ve got me hooked.
My only issue really would be the comparative lack of acknowledgement of the spin-off material, but considering how much you’ve got packed in, that’s probably for the best…
November 9th, 2007 at 5:28 am
Laura, the episode in question is “The Armageddon Factor”, but if you’re going to watch this one I suggest you watch the entire 16th season A.K.A. “The Key to Time”. All 6 episodes makeup one great story arc.
The Ribos Operation
The Pirate Planet
The Stones of Blood
The Androids of Tara
The Power of Kroll
The Armageddon Factor
I do hope you have a spare week. (:
November 9th, 2007 at 11:06 am
Considering ‘Omega’ apparently got his nickname (according to Big Finish) after the lowest possible score one can get on a test at the academy, I’m wondering if the Doctor was passable in one subject and rubbish in another?
And yeah, the ball gown. She should either have covered up or sanitized her, erm, assets. Because those were halfway to being on the operating table themselves. (Thanks for the info, BTW, been curious about that ever since I first saw the movie!)
November 14th, 2007 at 3:55 pm
What Happened To Eight He’s Been Gone A While
November 15th, 2007 at 6:15 pm
This comic isn’t the lead up to the Time War it’s just Valeyard just trying to cause trouble for the Doctors
November 15th, 2007 at 6:56 pm
Isn’t it, Kurt?
November 15th, 2007 at 7:31 pm
Hey you did the rescue! I was sure you’d split off to another Doctor-Doctor and leave us and Chris hanging - THANK YOU! for not doing so
November 16th, 2007 at 1:02 pm
Bloody hell — Drax! I was not expecting that! And driving the TARDIS car from the “Find Your Fate” book! How cool is that?!
December 1st, 2007 at 10:50 pm
Drax. In a car. Tardis.
Oddly, out of all the questions that could spring to mind, the one I’m thinking of is, ‘If it’s convertible, then how does he breath in the Vortex?’
Also ‘parking must be a real bugger’
December 1st, 2007 at 10:51 pm
Although, now I come to think of it, Ace’s Vortex Manipulating Motorbike sets a precedent. And that truly was one of the coolest things ever.
December 2nd, 2007 at 12:26 am
And what about the poor Tharils? They just get up and WALK through it!
Then you’ve got the Time Lords who travel through it without the benefit of a TARDIS. The dapper chap from “Terror of the Autons” and K’Anpo Rimpoche from “Planet of the Spiders”.
December 2nd, 2007 at 12:27 am
I had a concept for a TARDIS once that materialized as a wall of fire or a pillar of smoke.
December 30th, 2007 at 3:22 pm
I’ve only just discovered this comic and I think it’s brilliant. Well done. But anyway, I want to say, I thought that was the DWM comic strip’s fake ninth Doctor. It looks a lot like him.
February 14th, 2008 at 12:47 pm
Oh, oh, Nine’s little angst-moment! Perfect!
March 3rd, 2008 at 4:25 pm
Yay, someone somewhere likes 9! I’m so glad we got to see his thoughts. An aside, where are the rest? And the Companions? Really, where are they?

IT’S A CAR TARDIS!!
March 24th, 2008 at 9:10 pm
the episode in question is “The Armageddon Factor”, but if you’re going to watch this one I suggest you watch the entire 16th season A.K.A. “The Key to Time”.
I’m halfway through watching “The Key to Time Series” and I was going to continue today, but then I found this comic. How to choose? Either way, I guess there’s something to look forward to.
