As cute as ever, she is…Even in toon form. Good job…And I knew Glitz had something up his sleeve. EVERY port we see him hat, he has some sorta scheme.

Glitz never really struck me as a bad guy. He’s probably a nice guy deep down….deep, deep, deep, DEEP, deep down…

Rich, you’re a wonder! Time passes, real life intervenes, but you manage to STICK WITH THE STORY! Thank-you, thank-you so much for always coming back to us (the *fanz*), the Doctor (all of them) and your wonderful, richly-realised and (amazingly) consistent take on the WHOniverse.
I’m always looking forward to the new “episode”, and as soon as I’ve finished reading (and sometimes even *while* I’m reading), I want *more*. You’ve absolutely hooked me, Rich, with your detailed, serious and sympathetic presentation of the Doctor and his/their adventures. Hmm, better also add “ingenious”, “respectful” and “affectionate” to those descriptors

I think your work (the writing, the art and the storytelling) in this comic series is of the highest quality, better than many “paper” comicbooks and *most* webcomics. (Better, in fact, than *all* of the non-humerous webcomics I know.) Your artwork remains excellent, the level of “historical” and background detail is a delight and the characterisation — of the Doctors and everyone else! — remains absolutely, unbelievably *good*.
Perhaps I should have kept the , “You go, boy!” comment for *here.* Oh well. But anyway, thanks again, Rich, for taking the time — and making the effort. Your comic has all the qualities that made me love Doctor Who in the first place.

Oh, and my favourite one-shot Dr. Who villains? Two of them, one named and one…nameless?
First is Sutek from _Doctor Who and the Pyramids of Mars_ (with the Jon Pertwee Doctor). My best friend at the time — I was in intermediate school in New Zealand, like junior high in America — was an fan of all things Egyptian, and that seemed to spill over. Oh, and it was the first Doctor Who book I ever bought.
Aaand second is — an alien thing I can’t identify, also (I think) from the Jon Pertwee run. This was a space-alien nasty that landed on a British beach and lay there like a massive ice cream cornet, occasionally extruding tentacles to drag hapless humans into it. Its first victim was a police constable who came riding up on his bicycle to investigate. I seem to remember the Doctor himself eventually having to go inside it.
And no, I don’t remember the name of either the creature *or* the episode. Sorry. But the size of the impression this villainous creature made on me should be apparent from the fact that I still remember as much as I do — and I only saw the episode *once*, on TV when it first aired, when I was a child of three or four. *And I’m 40 now.*

Wow, Louise…. you’ve really floored me! I’m so flattered, I’m not sure what to say. Except THANK you! I’m so glad there are people out there to share this with. I was so excited when the new show started and it was GOOD. It quickly became mainstream. I can say words like Dalek and TARDIS and people know what the hell I’m talking about now.

Incidently, “Pyramids of Mars” is a Tom Baker episode… and the squiddy-alien creature, I don’t remember that one at all! I think it might be “The Sea Devils” (on a beach) or “Terror of the Autons” had a squiddy thing in it. Otherwise, I haven’t got a clue! Can anyone else identify this episode for us?

Funny. I own the Pyramids of Mars on DVD. And mine’s a 1975 episode, with Tom Baker and Elisabeth Sladen (Sarah Jane) facing Sutekh. Sarah proved to be one heck of a shot.

lol - Elisbeth Sladen always had a problem with that, she thought ‘Where would Sarah Jane have learned about rifles?” but the director won out which I kind of liked. Sometimes you just need to see a companion doing the ‘cool’ bit unexpectedly.

He was always sort of likeable for a guy that sold his own crew to be frozen souless ice slaves. It takes some moxy on the writers and actor to keep a character likable after that!

I think Louise might be thinking of The Claws of Axos — it didn’t take place on a beach, but it did include a character on a bicycle meeting a nasty fate. It was a tramp, not a policeman, though. But the description “like an ice cream cornet” and tentacles sounds like Axos to me.

A little of each. I have the basic story set up in my head. The actual dialogue and results of each encounter are much more spontaneous.
