Satan was kind of lame, actually. I mean, pwshaw, in the whole episode one person died. Some ultimate evil he was.

Not counting the Ood. Poor, innocent Ood. They were adorable and I wanted one.

The Family gets props because they had the coolest not deaths EVER. I mean, usually we think of NINE as being the hardcore one, but Ten did warn that he was a "no second chances" kind of guy. He's really quite scary when he's angry...maybe because he had a little slice of what a human life would be like, and got all disgruntled when he remembered he isn't allowed to be happy.

True... it is out there.
It's still stupid. Heheheheh
Just seems so random. I mean... I suppose The Rani could be a much later incarnation of Romana after she got burned about the Doctor for something, traipsed back in time and went back to the university with him so she could kill the President's cat...

As for the Monk's other story: He was working with the Daleks in "The Dalek Masterplan".

Well, I don't think you can completely discount it on the basis of personality differences ... look how different the Fifth and Ninth Doctors were, for example. I could see the Master being Monk-like before he had to start stealing bodies to keep regenerating--that sort of thing can change a man.

That said, I agree that The Monk is almost certainly *not* an earlier incarnation of The Master... but the theory *is* out there. :)

Where was the Monk referenced outside 'The Time Meddler'? I can't think of any other episode...

Don't believe that for an instant.
Their personalities were totally different.
The War Chief seems more like the Master's earlier incarnation, except of course, that the Doctor doesn't know him.

Heh, and I think the Monk counts as a two-shot!

Favorite one-shot villain? Hands down, the Meddling Monk. Unless you believe the theory that the Monk was actually an earlier regeneration of The Master, in which case he's not a one-shot. ;)

"Awe.. seems a bit mean. I mean, its not like she’s Jool! "

LOL! I never thought of that before! She totally IS Jool though. Curly red hair, thinks she's pretty smart, travels on a living ship with at least one eccentric genius, screams real loud.

Jool = a cooler version of Mel.
