The 10 Doctors: page 42
Mel and Glitz dock with the Terminus to drop off some medicine for the Lazar’s disease patients. They are met at the airlock by the Garm.
Mell, as we feared, screams.

Amazing ;D
I want to see the doctors! Where are they now?
September 19th, 2007 at 7:19 am
Hehehe, patience! They’re on their way.
September 19th, 2007 at 7:52 am
I think her scream must be her secret weapon!
September 19th, 2007 at 9:36 am
If she’s at all in-character, the next three pages will have to be a continuation of the final two panels.
September 19th, 2007 at 9:39 am
Awe.. seems a bit mean. I mean, its not like she’s Jool! I didnt see that much of her but she seemed a bright, practical companion that was willing to take on a grumpy doctor and remain defiantly cheerful in his presence.
I think she was just the last of the ‘damsel in distress’ companions so she the last of the regular screamers, but she didnt seem worse than any of the others before her.
She didnt scream that much with McCoy anyway.
September 19th, 2007 at 9:47 am
Actually her worst scream was in McCoy’s first episode, “Time and the Rani” when she gets caught in the magical soap-bubble trap.
You’re right, she didn’t scream as MUCH as say.. Sarah Jane, Susan, or ole’ leather-lungs herself, Victoria.
But she was screechy. Skeletal. Irritating.
September 19th, 2007 at 1:39 pm
Oh, I should have known that was coming.
I didn’t think Sarah Jane was bad about screaming. She screamed, but it didn’t get on my nerves like Mel and Zoe’s did. I haven’t seen a Victoria episode yet but I’ve heard about her epic screaming.
Poor Garm. He was just standing there. He didn’t need to be subjected by the banshee scream of doom, lol.
Great work, and I can’t wait for the next one, as always. All the updates recently have been excellent.
September 19th, 2007 at 1:51 pm
Heh. I really like the way you depict Mel. She’s much more likable as a cartoon character.
September 19th, 2007 at 2:09 pm
Ahh! My ears, my ears are bleeding!!!
September 19th, 2007 at 3:00 pm
OK, show of hands-who’s surprised that Mel screams her head off at the big scary alien? Anyone?
And I agree with Camille, bring on the Doctors!
September 19th, 2007 at 3:45 pm
Even in toon form, that scream hurt my head…Bring on the hot Traken chick….LOL
September 19th, 2007 at 3:58 pm
I LOVE this comic. I JUST LOVE IT
I wish it would be canonized
September 19th, 2007 at 4:08 pm
What’d I tell ya? Good thing I had my earplugs.
I also agree. Bring the Doctors back!
September 19th, 2007 at 4:11 pm
In good time, my friends. Just have to work through some important story stuff.
September 19th, 2007 at 8:16 pm
Come on you lot, quit complaining and let the man work.
September 19th, 2007 at 8:30 pm
Oh god, the sonic weapons of the Ice Warriors aren’t as terrible as hearing Mel scream… *shudder*
September 19th, 2007 at 8:56 pm
I am so glad this comic doesn’t have accompanying audio. I only saw one serial with Mel in it (Paradise Towers), and I know how unbearably annoying her scream can be.
September 19th, 2007 at 9:04 pm
Oh, hope this isn’t considered spamming, but I had a Dr. Who-related poll question. I’m interested in finding out who the readers think was the best one-time villain from the series. This excludes Cybermen, Daleks, the Black Guardian and the Master, sad to say. It’s just about foes who appeared in only one serial (ex. Azal, Magnus Greel, Sutekh, Kroagnon, Kandyman, the Animus, Morgaine, Celestial Toymaker, Fenric, Light, Gods of Ragnarok), single episodes from the new series (ex. The Wire, the Carrionites, the Editor, Professor Lazarus, Weeping Angels), or multipart stories from the new series (ex. Family of Blood, John Lumic, the Beast)
September 19th, 2007 at 9:43 pm
Ahahaha how much more tolerable that scream is when it’s textual. XD
September 19th, 2007 at 10:53 pm
Hey Jim.
I’ve always been rather partial to Meglos, myself. The evil potted plant!
Sharez Jek was pretty awsome too, actually.
Argh… the Shadow!
The angels.
The Mandragora Helix scared the willikers out of me as a kid.
Poop. 40+ years of Doctor Who and you want us to pick just ONE?
September 20th, 2007 at 7:40 am
Yeah, I can see how that can pose some problems. I’m having trouble narrowing it down myself. Perhaps I’ll rephrase the question and ask who readers thought were “The best one time villains.” That little S at the end should hopefully make things easier.
September 20th, 2007 at 1:50 pm
Good question Jim. I’ve only been exposed to part of the original series, plus some odds and ends from the 3rd/4th Doctor eras. Still I’d say the best one-time villain had to be Fenric. He (it? they? both?) really gave me chills first time I watched that episode, and still does.
September 21st, 2007 at 12:04 am
Responding to Jim; no contest, the Family of Blood, favorite villians.
Especially “Son of Mine”
September 21st, 2007 at 4:22 am
The Weeping Angels, hands down.
September 21st, 2007 at 5:08 am
A one-shot villain, mmm? Only one episode, eh? My, that is indeed a tough one.
The Beast. Nothing beats ultimate evil.
September 21st, 2007 at 8:15 am
Good point, Inutaisho01. When it comes to the ultimate evil, you don’t get any badder than Satan.
September 22nd, 2007 at 10:46 pm
Eh, I felt the Beast was a poor substitute for the Black Guardian who I was expecting to be in the pit. But the Guardians dont qualify as they werent one time villians/anitvillians
The Angels would win hands down.
Okay Rich, glad you got some more pages out already!
(and I agree, I never thought of Sarah as especially a screamer tho she did her share of companion in distress, like they all had to back then. Less a screamer and more of a what was that? sort of person )
September 22nd, 2007 at 10:47 pm
okay the words “gasp” “what was that” didnt appear on the screen.. I must have dont something wrong.
Anyhow, happy to see you’ve got more for us - we’re very greedy readers!
October 18th, 2007 at 9:50 am
“Awe.. seems a bit mean. I mean, its not like she’s Jool! ”
LOL! I never thought of that before! She totally IS Jool though. Curly red hair, thinks she’s pretty smart, travels on a living ship with at least one eccentric genius, screams real loud.
Jool = a cooler version of Mel.
October 20th, 2007 at 4:03 pm
…and this is why Six and Seven didn’t need sonic screwdrivers.
November 16th, 2007 at 12:23 pm
THE GARM! I love the Garm! What a nice doggie.
And Mel’s reaction is priceless, and completely in character. Well done.
December 1st, 2007 at 6:53 am
Favorite one-shot villain? Hands down, the Meddling Monk. Unless you believe the theory that the Monk was actually an earlier regeneration of The Master, in which case he’s not a one-shot.
December 1st, 2007 at 8:51 am
Don’t believe that for an instant.
Their personalities were totally different.
The War Chief seems more like the Master’s earlier incarnation, except of course, that the Doctor doesn’t know him.
Heh, and I think the Monk counts as a two-shot!
December 2nd, 2007 at 5:42 pm
Well, I don’t think you can completely discount it on the basis of personality differences … look how different the Fifth and Ninth Doctors were, for example. I could see the Master being Monk-like before he had to start stealing bodies to keep regenerating–that sort of thing can change a man.
That said, I agree that The Monk is almost certainly *not* an earlier incarnation of The Master… but the theory *is* out there.
Where was the Monk referenced outside ‘The Time Meddler’? I can’t think of any other episode…
December 2nd, 2007 at 7:03 pm
True… it is out there.
It’s still stupid. Heheheheh
Just seems so random. I mean… I suppose The Rani could be a much later incarnation of Romana after she got burned about the Doctor for something, traipsed back in time and went back to the university with him so she could kill the President’s cat…
As for the Monk’s other story: He was working with the Daleks in “The Dalek Masterplan”.
February 9th, 2008 at 5:18 am
Mell, as we feared, screams, : Classic
February 29th, 2008 at 12:47 am
Satan was kind of lame, actually. I mean, pwshaw, in the whole episode one person died. Some ultimate evil he was.
Not counting the Ood. Poor, innocent Ood. They were adorable and I wanted one.
The Family gets props because they had the coolest not deaths EVER. I mean, usually we think of NINE as being the hardcore one, but Ten did warn that he was a “no second chances” kind of guy. He’s really quite scary when he’s angry…maybe because he had a little slice of what a human life would be like, and got all disgruntled when he remembered he isn’t allowed to be happy.
March 2nd, 2008 at 5:31 pm
Cool red eyes, was wondering if I’d ever see any more colo(u)r. (The parentheses are so it can be generic)
