The 10 Doctors: page 40

Sarah Jane convinces Harry to contact UNIT for her. A few too many calls for help and they’ve gotten fed up with her. Brigadier Bambera isn’t nearly as patient as Lethbridge-Stewart was.

  3. Megan Says:

    Torchwoooood! *cackles*

  4. InterNutter Says:

Oh dear. I’m suddenly envisioning Sarah Jane versus Captain Jack… They should get along like a house on fire.

…flames, screaming and people running for safety… ;) [Joke liberated from Mr Pratchett]

  5. Reinder Says:

“Covers everything up”? How about “buggers everything up”?

  6. DrkFire666 Says:

Bambera, oh shamin’ I remember her!

  7. UndeniablyNikki Says:

Bambera was a joke as the Brigadier. Haha, Winnifred.

I think you’re planning on bringing in a bit of wood…as in Torchwood, eh?

  8. Jim Says:

Question: are these our universe’s Cybermen, or the alternate universe Cybermen created by John Lumic?

Hmmm… not sure if I should answer that or not. I’ll hold off and draw some more. Hopefully you’ll find out very soon.

oooh mannnn! as always, loving every page!, you are absolutly bringing everything and everyone in!, watch you don’t drown!!

poor “old” Harry Sullivan! and boy, did he get old! ;) nice work on the aging process :D

Gotcha. I don’t want you to have to give anything away. Whichever one it is, I know it will be good.

One more question, if you don’t mind my asking. If “The Ten Doctors” were ever made into an animated movie (and God knows that would be great), who would you want to provide the voices for Doctors 1-3? I think Dan Castalanetta would make a good First Doctor, David Warner for the Second, and Malcom McDowell for the Third.

  12. Sean Says:

You know, I’ve just noticed the small Cyberman figurine sitting on a shelf nearby Harry.

Seems a bit mighty convenient, wouldn’t'cha say?

For 1 and 2, *shrugs* I dunno. But 3’s voice is VERY distinctive. The only one I can’t think of who could pull it off would be Sean Pertwee, Jon’s boy. If they ever wanted to have 3 cameo in a flashback, Sean Pertwee even LOOKS like his old man. Should have seen my reaction when I saw him in “Event Horizon”… it was like a young, nasty, cussing 3rd Doctor!

-Seems a bit mighty convenient, wouldn’t’cha say?-
Yeah! Harry’s sitting in his home office. The earth has been visited by the Cybermen on at least 3 occasions I can think of before now in the Doctor Who universe. Made sense to me that the geek community might have provided models of these things just like you can buy models and nicknacks of Yeti, Nessie, and “grey” aliens. I figure Sarah got it for him as a joke one birthday. She clings desperately to the whole adventure. Life beyond our planet, alien invadors, their time with the Doctor, while Harry just wants to get on with his golfing, his pension, his family, football on the telly and all that. Harry is the only person who shared Sarah Jane’s experiences on the TARDIS so she probably keeps bringing it up with him to keep it alive.

I paint her to be a bit obsessive, but it’s a story thing. And she did seem a bit of a wierdo in the SJAdventure pilot. (which we didn’t get, I downloaded… ahrrrr)

I just have you say, you are fantastic. the ideas excellent, art style excellent, story and writting excellent! :)

  15. Kara Says:

Hooray for SJ! I was hoping she’d show up in a major or semi-major role. She’s not my favourite companion, but you can’t argue that she was probably the most useful.

(Grammar Nazi — ‘All right’ is two words … sorry … should probably just read and enjoy, shouldn’t I?)

  16. Rich Says:

Heheheh, sorry, you’re right. Should probably get my editor wife to check these before I send them out like I often to for YAFGC.

Don’t know that SJ was MORE useful than Romana, K9, Nyssa or Adric. Or as self-reliant as Ace, Turlough or Leela…

But she got her own series and repeatedly comes back.

  17. Lisa Says:

In defense of Captain Jack, I say “Hey!!” :p

Speaking of voices for the Doctors if this were ever to be made into something animated (we wish!!), howzabout that guy from Dead Ringers (can’t think of his name at the moment)? In the DW Confidential for Blink, he did all of ‘em and he was spot on with Pertwee.

    Just a thought.

  18. Phantom_Drummer Says:

How do you keep track of all your story threads? This is bloody fantastic! Every time I come back to look for updates, there’s another character reintroduced! You are the man! As a die-hard old and new school fan of the series, I can’t wait to see the next page!

  19. Rich Says:

    Keep… track?

    Heeheheheh

  20. Jonn Wolfe Says:

I just happened on a link to this comic from a forum I frequent.
    Smashingly Brilliant Stuff!

    Keep it up! =)

  21. ColinG Says:

Will we get to see Torchwood in here somewhere?

  22. Rich Says:

    Maaaaaayyybeeeeeeeee

  23. Isi Says:

-howzabout that guy from Dead Ringers -
    you mean John Culshaw?
good idea! that man is ledge!!

  24. Kristy Says:

I have to say i am loving this story.. and i wonder if SJ is going to say “I Caaann’t breath!” at some point lol.. just finished watching all the old who’s and thats one line that sticks out when i think of her ;)

  25. Madison Says:

Please say that Bambera is going to show up and attempt to shoot the Cybermen. Oh, Winnifred.

  26. Josiah Rowe Says:

    Shame!

In a recent episode of The Sarah Jane Adventures, Sarah called UNIT to clean up the mess of a Slitheen revenge plot and ended her call by saying “Love to the Brig”. I suppose that could have been Bambera, but it’s much more likely to be Lethbridge-Stewart. The most likely reading is that whoever Sarah’s current UNIT connection is is in regular contact with Lethbridge-Stewart (who is, of course, retired).

Kara said: “(Grammar Nazi — ‘All right’ is two words … sorry … should probably just read and enjoy, shouldn’t I?)”

Grammar Nazi Mk II — The adjective “all right” is two words, but the adverb “alright” is one word, like the adjective “far away” and the adverb “faraway”.

Of course, since Harry’s using it as an adjective (short for “It is all right,”) then yes, it should be two words this time.
