The 10 Doctors: page 29
The 9th Doctor’s TARDIS snaps at the end of the cables, shorting through and blowing out the TARDISes connected to it and causing it to crash to the ground. The others rush to his aid.

Of course, the immediate questions are “Why would the Ninth Doctor behave so bizarrely reckless (I mean, he couldn’t even have closed the door with all of those wires attached)?” and “Why didn’t the TARDIS de-materialize like usual instead of flying away?”
Here are my guesses. Nine could be impulsive, but not to the point of ridiculous stupidity. But, being near the top of this temporal anomaly, he, like Ten, was experiencing some unexpected disorientation affecting his short-term cognitive functions in moments of high emotion. As for the TARDIS flying, I’m guessing that was to give us an awesome scene of TARDISes going nuts. Whee!
Wonderful, great work Rich, thanks again. Glad you’re back at it a bit.
Now gimme more. More! MORE!

Yes, you’re right about him being impulsive to the point of idiocy. But it had to do with him being already kind of emotinally strained with the whole all-alone-after-the-war thing, his bizarre attachment to Rose, and the fact that he just learned too much about his near future from 10.
The TARDIS taking off like a rocket came from the weirder parts of the new series where the TARDIS is seen flying very physically, and the takeoff scene from “Runaway Bride” (and the landing implied from Troughton’s “Tomb of the Cybermen” where someone sees the TARDIS land in the distance offscreen). Something I always thought the other Doctors would find terribly reckless and irresponsible.
As the story goes, I also needed an excuse to put 4 TARDISes out of commission.

Well, I can’t speak for Malinda, but what *I* want , having devoured the whole thing in one sitting, is lots more!
I’m a big fan of Yet Another Fantasy Gamer Comic too. You do really great stuff — please, keep it coming as life permits!

Hmm… I dunno Rich, it’s pretty weird that he didn’t even unplug the cables before taking off. I mean, if my beautiful girlfriend was kidnapped by pirates and I had to give chase in my trusty super-sonic speedboat, I would at least make sure it wasn’t still attached to the pier by a heavy-duty rope I had just finished tying before trying to take off in it. And this is the Doctor we’re talking about… he’s emotional, sure, but… I.Q. of about a thousand, there…
Oh, all that actually happened to me once. Really.

Oh, Nine..! I can actually see him doing that, considering his extreme attatchment to Rose. I love the way you portray all the Doctors, and I enjoy your drawing style quite a lot. :~)
I actually found your comic just a few weeks back, so I was very happy when I saw it had been updated. More, please?

Triple update! JOY!!!
Absolutely brilliant, “Great ball of fire!!!” Classic Pertwee!
Loved the interplay between 3, 9 and the rest on page 27, these are getting better all the time, unquestionably worth the wait.

Hmm… okay, I consent. It’s weak. *Nods*
I really was playing on the (rediculous) relationship between the Doctor & Rose and playing up his impulsive sense of irresponsibility he portrays in that incarnation. Obviously a result of his traumatic reaction to what he had to do in the war (just like the Master’s persona-changing traumatic personality change). But you’re right. He shouldn’t have gotten stupid.
But it was a nice excuse for some cool TARDIS FX… that and, as I said, I needed to knock out a few TARDISes.
So… you’ve got a super-sonic speedboat and your girlfriend was kidnapped by pirates, hunh?

Oh, yeah. We’ve learned to stay away from pirate-infested areas. Nowadays we primarily adventure in France.
Did I mention though that this is all awesome? ‘Cause it is. Best Doctor Who-themed comic ever! And believe it or not, I’ve seen quite a few. Thanks again for this, Rich.

Thank YOU, Joe!

As far as knocking half the Tardii out of commission, wouldn’t it have made more sense to just say 9 and 10 only had enough power to recharge 1 other each?
August 30th, 2007 at 8:40 am
Nope. I wanted older 5 of the 9 TARDISes working. That and I wanted to put 9’s out of commission.
Add to that we would have missed out on some nifty cool TARDIS crashy-explodey effects and a bit of high drama for 9. Even if it might have gone a LEEETTle over the top.

dude these things ROCK!!
one question though:
how did Ten get in there? paradrop via sofa coat?
lol
well, he would have been light enough anyway
unless he has really dense bones of course
*rant* *rant* *rant*…..

What One said: Now bring him out so I can give him a proper scolding.
What One meant: Make sure he’s alive so I can kill him.

Poor Nine, does everyone hate him? I just made a crossover with Star Trek…and now I’m making sure everyone’s nice to him…and that’s also so in character, considering that he really cares about Rose:( Lisa, totally agreed. Same with you, Sugarpie.
March 16th, 2008 at 5:54 pm
Yeah, my friend hates Nine. And he broke my headphones, so he’s just not very nice right now. In the crossover, he just met Spock and Uhura. I’m so behind writing with schoolwork (mountains, if you don’t think this is literal you must never have had homework:()
