This just keeps getting better! Your character designs are so expressive. I love it all… The political thread was unexpected but it’s turning out well.
May 18th, 2007 at 12:30 pm
GASP! Oh no! This is getting terribly exciting, and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

May 19th, 2007 at 9:09 pm
Ooooo! No! Not a cliffhanger! I want to know more! *glees happily* I can’t believe I didn’t find this comic sooner. If luck is on your side, how often do you update? Will be checking back with held breath. X3
May 19th, 2007 at 9:50 pm
Unfortunately, I only update as my muse and RL permits. So… I have gone as long as a month or two, and then I’ll put up like 4 pages in a couple of days. So, I’m REALLY sorry about not being more consistant. But I’m glad you’re enjoying it. Try not to be discouraged by my fluctuating schedule.
May 25th, 2007 at 1:25 am
Brilliant - I just love my fix of Dr Who - when they don’t air it fast enough here is Australia I can turn to you. Oh and give up your Job and just do this full time. Who needs money when you can entertain!
Thanks heaps You are a light in an otherwise dull day as always!
Cheers

writhing on the floor, a poor starved lad, barely able to lift a reference about reversing polarities, to hoarse to offer advice about having our own terrors to face, as i humbly await your next offering, then i can crawl to the fridge and find sustenance…
June 4th, 2007 at 1:31 am
Oh this is good and getting better by the second. Please update soon! Please!!!
June 4th, 2007 at 7:31 pm
Say, have you seen Martha Jones’s blog? Turns out she visited the Eye of Orion recently.
June 4th, 2007 at 7:56 pm
Martha Jones has a blog?
June 4th, 2007 at 11:35 pm
It’s completely independent and I’m unsure as to whether the information could be considered canon, or if it’s just an eager and enthusiastic fan portraying Martha with the bits inbetween, but yes, Martha Jones has a blog.

I’m pretty sure it’s one of those webpages the show’s crew set up to play with the fans, like Clive’s website or the UNIT homepage, or VanStatten’s company, you know. If it’s just fan work, then it’s uncommonly well done.
June 17th, 2007 at 4:57 am
Just a wild guess but, since your latest comics involve The Master, are you waiting for Series 3 to end befor you update again or are you just waiting for your muse to strike?
Love your comix BTW!
June 17th, 2007 at 10:09 am
Hehehehe, just waiting for the muse. Sorry. I’ve been somewhat more distracted than usual lately with my wife being 9 months pregnant and ready to pop at any moment!
June 17th, 2007 at 12:37 pm
OMG congratulations, that’s brilliant!!!
Good luck!
June 18th, 2007 at 12:52 am
Hey, good job and good luck, man! Congratulations, indeed!
And on a more “Doctor-ish” note… the latest episodes may shine some light on the Time War, so you might want to be ready to take a few notes.
June 19th, 2007 at 1:05 pm
why your not poasting?
June 20th, 2007 at 7:03 am
Um….
Well, partly the crush in work, partly the fact that this is just one of several projects I’m working on and I’ve taken a few days to concentrate on one of the others, partly because my wife is ready to give birth to our first child and I’m ready to attend her every need at all times and have been a little preoccupied…..
….but I promise I’ll try to get back on this real soon! Promise.
June 27th, 2007 at 12:08 pm
Double post!
You know, recent episodes have revealed some very interesting backstory… about the Master, his role in the war, and Gallifrey itself. I hope it doesn’t frustrate your plans.
June 27th, 2007 at 4:49 pm
We’ll see!
Been a bit absent lately.
Just got back from the hospital.
My wife gave birth to our daughter on Monday at 9:20 PM!
All are healthy and well and exhausted!
June 27th, 2007 at 6:52 pm
CONGRATULATIONS, man! That’s awesome!
June 28th, 2007 at 8:26 pm

June 28th, 2007 at 8:28 pm

June 28th, 2007 at 10:46 pm
Oh brill! Chears mate!! That’s fantastic!
June 28th, 2007 at 11:14 pm
Congrats!
June 30th, 2007 at 7:19 am
Congratulations on your daughter!
July 5th, 2007 at 3:21 pm
I’ve been going through the YAFGC archives and just yesterday reached the post where you announced The 10 Doctors. Wow! Both comics are fabulous stuff! Thank you so much for sharing them with us all.
Congratulations on your new daughter. I’ll be eagerly awaiting the return of your comics when you finally get some free time again about 18 years from now.
July 8th, 2007 at 1:09 pm
Thank you so much everyone!
I’ll do my best to get back into this before then, Bill. I mean, I’ve been a Who fan since I was a little kid myself and this is something I’ve been wanting to do for ages.
I just need to focus my sleep deprived brain a little more. At least YAFGC takes care of itself, more or less. I’ve had them drawn up ’till late August even before the baby was born. 10 Doctors takes longer and is more involved, and I have no buffer!
Please everyone, bear with me!
July 16th, 2007 at 5:56 am
brilliant! absloutey Brilliant! can’t wait for the next installment!

July 24th, 2007 at 11:39 pm
Sooo… HAVE you seen last parts of Season 3, yet? I’m just really curious to know if you’re planning to integrate all the new backstory into your work here somehow.
July 25th, 2007 at 6:23 pm
Yes I’ve seen them.
Not sure if I’ll deliberately change anything to fit them, but I’m happy to say that nothing I have planned contradicts it.
July 25th, 2007 at 6:39 pm
Awesome. Though you have to admit, Simm brings new dimensions to the character. The “drums” are an interesting manifestation of the Master’s insanity. I wouldn’t mind seeing your take on all that.
July 26th, 2007 at 12:38 pm
I totally agree Joe, John Simm’s performance was absolutely brilliant. Although the character was a bit over the top on the surface, there was just so much subtlety in the performance. It’s turned my little cousin into a mad John Simm fan. So much so she went and bought the complete series one and two of Life on Mars. That programs brilliant as well.
July 26th, 2007 at 12:57 pm
Yeah, what really made it all work was that by giving the Master a frenetic sense of humor they made him seem like more of a disturbing parallel to the Doctor, which is in many ways what he was meant to be all along.
July 26th, 2007 at 5:59 pm
Well… I prefer the old “Professor Moriarty” version of the Master to the modern “Joker” version.
But it was okay once they explained his doings in the Time War. I could accept it.
July 27th, 2007 at 12:48 am
It’s interesting you mention the Joker, in a way. It brings to mind a theory I came across some time ago, regarding the way DC comics and Marvel comics handle their villains. See, in DC comics, the bad guys are usually polar opposites of the hero they oppose. Lex Luthor is a horribly evil mortal man while Superman is a supremely good superhuman, the Joker is a psychotic funnyman while Batman is a stoic vigilante, and so forth. Marvel comics, on the other hand, generally makes villains more distorted reflections of their nemeses. The Red Skull is a Nazi patriot with no special powers, while Captain America is (was) an American patriot with no special powers. Loki is, like Thor, a Norse mythological figure. The X-Men fight fellow mutants, Spider-Man fights other animal-themed dudes, and so on.
I believe that at first, the Master was intended to be a Marvel kind of villain. He was cultured, mature, and highly intelligent Time Lord. Much like the Doctor. But as time wore on and the Doctor changed, the Master… really didn’t. He became more distant from the Doctor, ultimately becoming a stereotypical maniacal villain with no real similarity to the Doctor apparent. He became a DC villain. Which of course worked fairly well for quite a while.
But ah, Simm’s Master changed the formula back again. And I have to say, I think it was time. For so long we’ve been used to the Doctor using his sense of humor to assure the good guys and unnerve the bad guys. It’s almost like the Master finally stole one of his greatest powers. And anyway, the Doctor’s attitude has changed so radically from one body to the next… I’d say it was about time the Master changed too. That’s what regeneration should be all about!
Professor Moriarty was a great villain, but part of what made him great was his similarity to Holmes. If Holmes was a different sort of man, a different sort of Moriarty would be called for. The Doctor is currently not the sort of man who, in a “Marvel” sense, calls for an Ainley or a Delgado. That’s why the Master needed to change… because as he used to be, he couldn’t really be the Doctor’s Moriarty.

I’ve just discovered this fantastic (I sound like the 9th doctor ) comic me and my sister spent all last night reading this it funny filled to the brim with who facts and in jokes and I will be quite frank much better than most of the last tv series of dr who please please update this story soon
August 3rd, 2007 at 10:15 pm
Excellent stuff, just saw someone make an off hand reference on OG to the fact that they’d seen a very good 10th Doctor web-comic so I did a google. Very glad I did. Puts paid to the idea that a multi-doctor story couldn’t work well, this is really great stuff. The uncoloured portions remind me of movie story boards which made me picture what an animated version of this would look like… man that’d be amazing.
August 3rd, 2007 at 10:15 pm
Oh, and congratulations on the birth of your daughter!
August 3rd, 2007 at 10:17 pm
(and I meant 10 Doctors web-comic in my first comment, not ‘10th Doctor’.)
August 4th, 2007 at 7:28 pm
please, please, please, please, please write/draw more 10 doctors. With the 2rd David Tennant season over and at least a month to go before the next season of Torchwood starts, This has been a welcome and delightful interim doctor fix for me. I must have more! Anyway, I’m also a fan of YAFGC - thanks for all your art and stories.
August 4th, 2007 at 9:38 pm
A month? Sorry mate, Torchwood series 2 don’t start ’till January of ‘08 to fit BBC2s schedule. Also I here the shooting schedule on series 1 was mad, so their taking this series a bit slower this time ’round.
August 8th, 2007 at 9:13 pm
Oh dear.
What have I started!
Okay, I promise I’ll try to do another page sometime tomorrow. But life is demanding, so please don’t hate me if it doesn’t work out.
My daughter is beautiful and healthy and wonderful, and she is, of course, my number one priority. Maybe someday she’ll be a Doctor Who fan too and I’ll do a lot more of these. We’ll see.
August 9th, 2007 at 1:47 am
That sounds just great man, thanks for keeping us posted anyway. Of course we look forward to new pages of this wonderful project, but clearly your main concern should be the bundle of joy. Hey, congratulations again, and all the best to your family.
August 12th, 2007 at 12:08 pm

August 15th, 2007 at 12:42 am
